The best (and worst) of 2008

Simple question, if you were to pick a single video game that you have played for either of the above titles, what would it be?

Needs to have been released during or shortly before 2008

Can be any kind, MMO, single player, PC, console, etc.

Please no random fanboyism or bashing, state some reason for your opinion.

Personally:

The Best: Fallout 3. The world is immersive, the interactions with other characters is just right, and strategy plays a vital role in surviving the tougher battles. Primary problem I have is unrealistic reactions to getting hit.

The Worst: Exodus From The Earth. Its a single player FPS straight out of the 1990's. The audio systems are unfinished and buggy, the graphics are horrible, and even the most reliable weapons have a tough time hitting an enemy at any range. The AI's apparently have Superman's hearing as well as his "X ray" vision. On top of that, I keep running into sound bits and other details taken straight out of other games, HL2 and Doom3 in particular.

No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.

    My favorite

Fable 2: simple but effective combat system, leveling system that is intuitive and actually effects the physical handeling of your character.  Good graphics style.  Good ammount of humor.  Good replayability and the opportunity to mess around with the different aspects of the game without following the main story.

    What I thought was aweful

Too Human: awkward combat system that isn't as precise or responsive as it should be.  Inability to control the camera.  The concept of cybernetic norse mythology is nice but they made it so bland and dull and stripped away the personality.  The game's concept of increased difficulty is to add increasingly cheap monsters like exploding trolls.

Don't you worry little buddy. You're dealing with a man of honor. However, honor requires a higher percentage of profit
