Stat-Based or Skill-Based?

coldfreedomcoldfreedom Member Posts: 132

will it have Stat-Based or Skill-Based?

i hate stat based games. who play more, win. who high level, win. who buys currency, win.

hope it keeps its traditional skill-based fps.

drift city fail due to stat-based. online racing game having stat-based fail. online game fps having stat-based fail.

racing game and firt-person-shooter just not right with stat-based, it supose to be a skill-based. i can understand with traditional mmorpg but not racing and fps.

it will generally be skill based, or determined by the players skill mostly.  though im sure higher level weapons will also play a significant part, its still possible to pit a level 1 against a level 50 and have the level 1 win.

Webzen loves stat based Eq so I wouldn't be suprised if this is like MU with guns. I just hope it doesn't end up like MU and gate camping towns pvp for lack of anything to do.

Right now the game is an actual FPS. There are only a few "skills" you can get depending on your class. The graphics were nice and I was able get the chance to see what weapons were available.

However, this game was very boring as an MMO. You start off in a city and the only way to do PvP is by waiting in a waiting terminal train (you sit and do nothing) while your train loads and the opposing faction (humans vs. aliens) loads. Then there are only a few PvP maps (right now, though i am sure more would be added.) There are a few vehicles and a flying ship that can be driven or used.

As far as leveling you get some experience from PvP and more experience from doing missions which take to you PvE zones. You level up which allows you to upgrade your few "skills" armor, and weapons.

Running around town is very sluggish. It feels like you're walking through jello. Though I heard they intend on adding vehicles for moving around town. Part of the missions/quests were running from one end of the town to another.

The problem I see with the PvP was, if you want to play against your friends they have to be the opposite faction and you can't talk to them. Then you have to hope they get into the PvP lobby you do and that you both load into the same lobby to go into the same PvP scenario.

It was an alright game to play. Though I would expect more from an MMOFPS. This is just another FPS game, with limited amount of PvP maps, and a central lobby. The quests are just the fluff on the game.
