It would help if you can tell us what kind of game you are interested in.

    Sci-Fi or Fantasy?

    Free or Monthly payments?

Low, Mid- or High quality graphics?

Those are just a few things that would help us, help you. Please list your requirements for a game you would like to play and the rest of us can then throw a few options at you.

    Eve Online.

Cant go wrong I promise you.  That is if you like Spaceships and space and blowing stuff up with missiles and lasers and guns and stuff.  And you have the patience to use your brain and understand that the game will not be easy.

You can even own your own outpost that you can put defenses all around and protect it and make money given enough time.

I would say Eve is a mandatory game.  All the others are different avenues to do something different.  And Eve in Kali patch will have planets and stuff you can walk around on.  So it wont just encompass space.

I am more interested in fantasy style games than sci-fi. I would like to play a game with pretty good graphics, and i have the money to pay for a retail game and/or monthly payment. Recently I have been playing lineage2, but it is getting boring very quickly, with the only way to keep up with equipment being to buy items online or use a bot. I hope this helps, thanks

In that case wait for Everquest 2 and try it.

I personally would not recommend WoW.  I played it during the stress test and is not I think of what you are looking for,  the grinding and boredom and all.

This is an addictive one. I created several accounts for several trials.

The best game is the free game.

Play Dark Age of Camelot and Anarchy Online.

    Both has free trials

Yup, I know AO is sci-fi, but its worth your money image

If you are a casual gamer and like Superhero games, then City of Heroes is definitley for you.  I'm a casual gamer and am having a blast playing and have been playing for over a month.  And when City of Villians is released they will even have PvP!!!image

MMORPG's Im currently playing: The Sims Online, Second Life, Asherons Call 2, and City of Heroes

MMORPG's I've played: Star Wars Galaxies, Anarchy Online DAOC, EQ, WW2 Online, and Knight Online

Yeah, if u r a completely n00b, you should try Asherons Call 2 and City of Heroes for some months, and when you consider yourself a hardcore, then try something else......like Anarchy Online image.

    Games you should NOT try:

Lineage 2: Only for the Xtreme hardcore
EverCrap: Its name says it all
Horizons: You wont find more than 3 people
Sims Online: The single player is better
    SWG: ugh......can you say pudu?

I would look for free trials and see for yourself which one is best for you.

Anarchy Online, Dark Ages of Camelot, Asheron's Call 2, Horizons have free trials with free software download as far as I can think of..
