If it will be done physically then the finished product needs to be delivered to the publisher weeks before the release to allow the publisher enough time to ship the product out to stores. If it will be done electronically, who will be hosting it? That's a lot of bandwith to deal with.

From everything I've read so far it appears the product is not yet finished. the point is the video explains what DF is as a game, but it doesn't seem to silence the posters from posting UO comparisons, or comparisons to other games... why compare when it's all laid out for you...

I thought that was proof that the game was finished (slideshow with a little ancient video, hah!) and I was just saying that the promo trailer would've been better proof (but still pretty weak proof. Sure, they have the engine up and running, and maybe the combat, but there's no player made videos that show the features are in and working. And, without an Open Beta or an NDA lift, it looks like that won't happen until after launch. I don't trust leaks all that much. Go into the game blind if you want, but I'm more than happy to stay on the sidelines a while for this one).

The graphics are awful, I guess the people that are interested in it are interested mainly in its full pvp feature in which you can apparently fully loot players, in other words if you kill someone you can take all their weapons and armor.

to test a game at launch with tenS or hundredS of thousands of people is just plain stupid. their server are designed to have a max of 25000 people each, but 10000 at optimal performance...that is a lot better then WoW servers and i believe around what the eve online server was like at launch (however EVE now supports over 30000 players at a time)...it is expected that there will be around 3 or so servers at launch (on europe mainland, maybe 1 in the UK) and then 3 in the US (west, mid, east)
Ok. Where are those 25000 people? How can they guarantee us service if they havent testing their hardware? The only way they can test it with that many people is if they have open stress test. There is none as far as I know.
Furthermore, if you have 10 server in total, you NEED to test them all. That means you NEED 25000 x 10= 250000 people.
Seriously....I can't believe that I'm still taking the time to READ all these posts. I keep thinking that I will eventually see something that will rock my world, change my mind about possibly playing this game (IF it's ever released), or read some new piece of information that will negate the past YEARS of seeming delusion I've waded through on the forums in regards to all things Darkfall. And yet AGAIN....I see nothing of value.
Much of the potential fan base has become jaded, the other "diehard" bunch sound more like religious cultists than gamers, and the rest of us, who were simply curious about the game over the past few years, are quickly falling into the jaded category, considering that most of what we hear from the "other half" of the overly zealous cult-like side is something along the lines of oh...."troll, troll, troll" etc. etc. etc. ad infinitum if we don't "convert" to their faith in Tasos and the DF Way of Life (which basically consists of slamming the jaded bunch and posting cult propaganda across web forums far and wide).
I just want to see the developers actually hold to ONE thing they say, like oh....maybe actually a release date, or indication that there's really a beta when they say there's a beta, or....ANYTHING. So far, all hope is pretty much dashed the moment you allow a tiny bit to seep in. People seem to like to link alot GNi with how good or with the quality of DFO or Aventurine it just shows fanbois are loosing their grip on this game and want to grab to whatever litle piece of information that in their mind makes it real and good.
GNi as a business doesnt really care if DFO is good or not, they simply provide the server hosting, sure if it succeeds they will make money but they are not doing any quality control, just because Tasos called in to GNi and probably arranged some kind of contract to possibly host a DFO server does not make it good, for all GNi cares he can then host TheNoobComic as long as they get paid they will provide the service.
Because the best baker in the world has made you some bread it doesnt necessarily mean your gonna create the best hamburguer in the world.

They could do an open beta at the very least they could offer a beta key to Jon Wood and ask him to come to Aventurine, do a review and interview them after playing. But Aventurine won't even do free advertising, why? Why wouldn't you advertise your product for free on this and every other MMO site and mag? 1 sure way to stop beta leaks - offer beta tests a life long membership to the game. Even the few beta leaks on the net didn't break NDA. Maybe DF did this. They already know what the server cap is 10k people. Also, I remember some games stress testing their servers for what a weekend. What game did this again, oh right WAR.

I do happen to believe that the intent in that piece is real... but Aventurine hasn't had issues with intent... it's been the follow-through they've been a bit shaky on.

I can actually understand and speak italian so that is not a problem, but lets get back on the track i dont think you understand the concept of "proof" really, first off reading comprehension Downtoearth specifically said there is a press beta GOING ON so I ask him for proof of his claims then again what you have told me is that there is a post on a non official website of DFO saying there is a press beta in beginning of january i asked for proof of "there doing a press beta atm." and as I thought neither you or him have anything to backup these claims.
On a side note Tasos himself said that their open beta would start beginning of December there was no such thing what makes you think a third-party website is gonna have any credible information when the game director (supreme commander of DFO or whatever he entitles himself to be) is not giving any legitimate information.

I'm glad that the Developers of the game though are working to hopefully get the game to where the rest of us want it to be when it does finally Release.

What makes you guys wanna play Darkfall? I look at videos on youtube and the graphics are old looking. Maybe I am seeing the wrong videos? I lookup something like Aion and it blows away Darkfall by a thousand times. Maybe I AM seeing the wrong videos? Someone correct me PLEASE!
The graphics are awful, I guess the people that are interested in it are interested mainly in its full pvp feature in which you can apparently fully loot players, in other words if you kill someone you can take all their weapons and armor.
When will this supposed open beta start? Its 17 days till release and still no open beta. No stress test either.
You see 0 Stability issues with a couple of hundred of people, maybe a couple of thousand. But thats what stress test is for, to test stability with tens and hundreds of thousands of people.That does not worry you?
to test a game at launch with tenS or hundredS of thousands of people is just plain stupid. their server are designed to have a max of 25000 people each, but 10000 at optimal performance...that is a lot better then WoW servers and i believe around what the eve online server was like at launch (however EVE now supports over 30000 players at a time)...it is expected that there will be around 3 or so servers at launch (on europe mainland, maybe 1 in the UK) and then 3 in the US (west, mid, east)
Ok. Where are those 25000 people? How can they guarantee us service if they havent testing their hardware? The only way they can test it with that many people is if they have open stress test. There is none as far as I know.
Furthermore, if you have 10 server in total, you NEED to test them all. That means you NEED 25000 x 10= 250000 people.

Seriously....I can't believe that I'm still taking the time to READ all these posts. I keep thinking that I will eventually see something that will rock my world, change my mind about possibly playing this game (IF it's ever released), or read some new piece of information that will negate the past YEARS of seeming delusion I've waded through on the forums in regards to all things Darkfall. And yet AGAIN....I see nothing of value.
Much of the potential fan base has become jaded, the other "diehard" bunch sound more like religious cultists than gamers, and the rest of us, who were simply curious about the game over the past few years, are quickly falling into the jaded category, considering that most of what we hear from the "other half" of the overly zealous cult-like side is something along the lines of oh...."troll, troll, troll" etc. etc. etc. ad infinitum if we don't "convert" to their faith in Tasos and the DF Way of Life (which basically consists of slamming the jaded bunch and posting cult propaganda across web forums far and wide).
I just want to see the developers actually hold to ONE thing they say, like oh....maybe actually a release date, or indication that there's really a beta when they say there's a beta, or....ANYTHING. So far, all hope is pretty much dashed the moment you allow a tiny bit to seep in. Yup....I'm leaning toward the jaded side....to the point that I'm about to quit caring entirely and not even bother LOOKING at the posts about the game anymore. If that is Aventurine's idea of how to market a game....I think they're going to be surprised when/ IF the game actually releases, so many people are so ticked off by then at the company THEMSELVES, that they wouldn't play a game Aventurine released even it it was FREE. Most of us take offense at being stringed along and toyed with. That's pretty much human nature.
Incidentally....I rarely post on the DF forums, but I always READ them. The few times I have posted....I have tried to be open-minded and not negative. But here it is January and yep....even on their own website....nothing new.
I guess the initial excitement and dreams of role playing an armorsmith for a vast army of conquerors....is nothing but a virtual pipe dream. Meh...I'm not great at PvP anyway...I probably would have died a thousand deaths and had my corpse looted so many times that I wouldn't have enough ore to craft a cufflink. No biggie.

People seem to like to link alot GNi with how good or with the quality of DFO or Aventurine it just shows fanbois are loosing their grip on this game and want to grab to whatever litle piece of information that in their mind makes it real and good.
GNi as a business doesnt really care if DFO is good or not, they simply provide the server hosting, sure if it succeeds they will make money but they are not doing any quality control, just because Tasos called in to GNi and probably arranged some kind of contract to possibly host a DFO server does not make it good, for all GNi cares he can then host TheNoobComic as long as they get paid they will provide the service.
Because the best baker in the world has made you some bread it doesnt necessarily mean your gonna create the best hamburguer in the world.

I do happen to believe that the intent in that piece is real... but Aventurine hasn't had issues with intent... it's been the follow-through they've been a bit shaky on.

I can actually understand and speak italian so that is not a problem, but lets get back on the track i dont think you understand the concept of "proof" really, first off reading comprehension Downtoearth specifically said there is a press beta GOING ON so I ask him for proof of his claims then again what you have told me is that there is a post on a non official website of DFO saying there is a press beta in beginning of january i asked for proof of "there doing a press beta atm." and as I thought neither you or him have anything to backup these claims.
On a side note Tasos himself said that their open beta would start beginning of December there was no such thing what makes you think a third-party website is gonna have any credible information when the game director (supreme commander of DFO or whatever he entitles himself to be) is not giving any legitimate information.
