Is there a way to save the game/patches?

in Starport: Galactic Empires
I'm having some computer trouble lately and have had to reformat several times recently.  Everytime I do I have to download the game from scratch. (on dial up this usually take like 3 hours+patches). Is there a way that I can save it to a disk and have it run properly?

    I don't see how.  What you could do it download starport and burn the archive to a CD.  At least that would save you the big download.
