Love the new layout I just personally think the grey color is a little plain and bland maybe...as some people may have mentioned before Black or my the old traditional Blue color. Either way looks good but grey seems so plain to me. Good job
Meh! I preferd old layout, creature of habbit I guess.
No fate but what we make, so make me a ham sandwich please.
A few other things I've noticed/suggest:
* The (what I think is supposed to be) mmorpg.com logo image appears to be broken at the top left hand side of the screen.
* On the navigation bar those little triangles at the top right of each link really make it look ugly. I can't help thinking that a solid bar instead of a bar broken up by random triangles would look better. Are they really necessary?
* On the top left of the screen there is a darkish-blue border surrounding the "Your Messages, Edit your Profile and Logout) links. In my opinion it would look much, much better if that border was extended to surround the mmorpg.com logo at the top of the screen and the advert on the right hand side of the page. In other words another border the size of the grey border at the top of the screen. It would make it seem alot less haphazard.
If it's the little image next to your username that should be a shrunken version of your avatar. Can you post a screen of the issue your seeing?

It's coo man, I'ma get used to it. I do remember the death threats. I think I told admin i'm goinna sneak in his house in Hawaii and take his cereal and milk so he he starts gangbanging cuz no breakfast is in the house. Oh yeah, I got a lot planned for your brother in law.

You can still delete the message by viewing it first. But it does make the checkbox in the list view kind of pointless. We'll get the delete back in the list view.

LOL, we won't be changing it back... but I would like to see you attempt to recreate it in MS WORD
On the other hand we will be coming up with some new themes that should make it much less MS WORDy

Try alt + shift refresh I can see the image just fine
grey is an awful colour for a background. it has no impact and makes the whole site seem very dull.
Ohh, this totally caught me off guard. I had been thinking the old theme was a bit too blue, but I'm not too big a fan of grey either. The background being darker and blurred is +++
Maybe the most significant thing is getting one with the layout again, being a dialy visitor that shouldn't take too long. I like how the beta giveaway and other contest posters are now put to the bottom. Though the new type of hypemeter is more up-to-date, I kinda liked the way it was better.
When I tried the site with IE, the hypelevel meter in game overview, feature etc. get's the lower half of the number blocked by the "meter". No glitches with firefox or safari so far.
Thanks for the report we'll fix these issues up.

i think is proably the weakest colour he could have chosen.The backdrop blueish/purple is fine.I thought it was this site that at one time allowed you to have your own custom colours no?maybe it was the planetforums by gamespy,i think is the only other gaming forums i spent time at.

There is no longer an OP flag next to an OP's name on the forums. Thats frustrating.
I think the list of game forums only including the major titles on the left and the rest in the drop down menu was great, made for easy navigation. Also the in development section needs to come back. A lot of people dont know what is or isnt in development.
Somebody suggested MMO themed skins...thats brilliant! PLZ!

Hi, luv the new layout, don't mind the grey border, couple of questions;
1) how long before the your grey border turns into a white border? -(lol, sorry had to ask that one for all the Darkfall fans out there)
2) will there be other choices of color or theme's latter down the track?
Beyond that, nice work on everything you guys & gals of the staff put your mind's & heart's into on mmorpg.com, thank you for your efforts

As soon as I get used to the new theme I'm sure the illusion will wear off. Looks nice
I have a couple of gripes, if anyone who cares is listening...
First, it's too wide. Here's a screenshot. I know my screen is small but it's still annoying that the forum posts are pushed 1/3 of the way over on the screen. The old design wasn't as bad (~20%) and the sidebar was actually long enough to justify its existence. All the grey makes it 'seem' smaller (see the post below about monitor shrinkage). It's not *actually* any smaller. It's just... grey. Everywhere. And then a tiny box in the middle. It's hard to describe.. it's just distracting and draws my eyes away from the text.
Second... I don't like the colors - too much grey. All the navigation elements run together. I'd like the main forum body to be black, or at least darker.
Third - I hate how all the forums are collapsed except for the general forums. I can see the need since there's just too many of them to list, but it seems like instead of a Recently Visited Threads list, a Recently Visited Forums list would be a lot more useful - that way you could get back to your favorite game forum with one click instead of two.
And lastly, I'd suggest moving the edit / quote / reply buttons under the sigs and using a line instead of a seperate background color to seperate the sig from the main post body. The current locations look ackward and out of place, and having multiple color backgrounds from the same post is jarring (as most forums alternate colors to show different posts, not different parts of the same post).
Anyway, I don't mean to sound bitchy, I love this site - but this new layout needs some tweaking before it's 100%.

I agree 100%. The old black one was much better.
this can sound very stupid but on the played game list if you make a mistake you cant "delete" the game from the list :S ( i dont see that option)

The more I play with new design, more it's reminding me of 2004+ look of MMORPG.com. Wish I had a screenshot to remind myself. If I'm correct, grey was the color back in the the day. I like the Friends post and Yall took out the popular list to the left side which is nice. I do have some suggestions:
- The ability to make our own MMO forum watcher bar to the left. Like how you had the popular games up to the side, let us build our own so I can a list of forums such as: Off-Topic, Beta, Aion, WoW, etc. to the left side. I think that would really be nice for the people who don't have to use the drop-down list.
- When are we gonna be able to upload our own videos?
- Spell Check has been broken for months (actually it might be a year).
- In the settings > Games area. Is there something that was suposed to replace this, "Paragraph about why we want this info and why it's good for you"
- Just an idea, but maybe in Blogs you can add a catagory called "Friends Blogs" or something like that so we can keep tabs when our friends creates their blogs.
