I just say skill speaks for itself.  It's sort of like a guy walking into a room full of women and screaming.. "Hey ladies, I'm well endowed and I have lots of money.  Slobber over me because I'm the man!"  If you are what you claim you are then it will show...point blank.  You don't have to proclaim it especially when the platform on which it can be proven doesn't even exist yet.  The attention that I'm giving to this doesn't truly reflect it's relevance in my mind.  I guess when we all get down to it we are equally here passing time and discussing games.  No harm in that, I suppose.

It seems like there's so many labels thrown around.. elitist, fanboys, carebears, trolls.  I just consider myself a skilled gamer with a life and a healthy self esteem.  I don't have to validate myself or bolster my ego by proclaiming my future greatness in a game that's not released yet.  That part of it is a bit much and it seems that if you say so then people will disagree.  They will fight you for their right to self blow themselves.   That have got to be a lame existance.  The thing is that a person who establish whether they are "special" or not through gaming is detrimental to the genre at best.  Suppose they suck at the game, they are the ones that will run to the developer the quickest asking for changes rather than take that ego hit and learn to play the game.  Or they'll misrepresent the game on forums rather than give up their own inner delusions about their "elite" status.

Every game has their great players, don't get me wrong...but if you are already proclaiming yourself before having played the game I think you fall into the catagory i've explained.

I just hope SoE doesn't buy it not because i you may think i hate SoE because i dont, i like SoE they try, which is more then i can say about most publishers. But this game will bring them another shameful playerbase mmo.

Even SOE isn't desperate enough to want to touch Darkfall. That's why they had to settle for a generic DVD distributor as a publisher.

And before the fanbots spout off, don't give me any of that "It wasn't Darkfall taking forever to land a publisher, it was a publisher taking forever to land darkfall" crap Tasos tried to bullshit with. Darkfall doesn't have a big publisher because 1.) no big publisher wanted them and 2.) a big publisher would have dropped their asses before now because they'd see through the bullshit that comes out of Tasos' mouth. Plus a big publisher would have demanded to see the full game and not a tech demo ( especially SOE after Vanguard ).

"The monsters are tough. I was looking for a challenge, but these things are just too damn smart." -DF Beta Tester

"If people were dismissing it, then they wouldn't be talking about it. The well-meaning gamers root for efforts that try to raise the bar. So who's left? It's so easy being a skeptic." -Tasos

No, it's called common sense. A big publisher who thought Aventurine had even a slight chance of success would have worked with them to get the deal. It's the same thing as Gaute Godager "resigning" from Funcom, when everyone with sense knows he was fired. It's all spin.

But you go on believing Tasos BS.

I'm gonna play the game. Something in me is saying don't play but I'm gonna play because im a sheep and warhammer let me down so im on the rebound.

But realistically they can't even get a web page going that can handle the preorders properly ( I still have the same reload reload reload thing I had 4 days ago on the leak ) what makes me think the server itself is gonna be any better? And now im reading about this higher then average monthly fee. I dunno this just feels dumb. Like selling drugs to a 40 year old man dressed in a tropical shirt who keeps asking me if I can get something harder and who my dealer is.

yet im still gonna buy it. I hate myself
