All this time I had a suspition that my home PC was out to to get me, whatever the cost...I thought I was just being paranoid.....now I know I'm not and it is out to get me!

I have noticed what has been said in the article many times, lol i even said the video game was cheating. I'm surprised somebody took up the time to gather all that info and make a article about this.

 

The AI in Starcraft cheats a LOT less than the AI in any other RTS that I've played, especially the cheating piece of crap AI from Dawn of War...If you watch a replay of the AI on expert mode in DoW you'll see that they start with about 10 times as many resources as you do...it's nearly impossible to overcome unless you're an incredible player.

 

And don't get me started on how bad fighting games cheat...ESPECIALLY Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter, I can't tell you how many times I've been double dash punched by Balrog, or fallen victim to the superhuman reflexes of an opponent who always seems to know that a roundhouse kick is coming.

 

It's funny too because my parents always used to laugh at me as a kid when I would say that a game was cheating, but I knew what I was talking about =P

Think it's bad in Dawn of War? What about Dune 2? When attacking the computer it would actually built buildings on your frekkin' units. Sometimes they would take out 4 high cost units that way forcing you to retreat. A bit evil against a god damn 5 year old kid (my age when I played that game) if you ask me.

But most RTS games today admit that they are "cheating". Things such as double resources, veterancy on all units and so on are common these days... which tbh isn't really a problem.

Well they musta Buffed the Starcraft ai at some point because it is was Still the *Beep* AI I have ever seen.

But lets Be honest here. NO RTS (And ive played LOTS) has any sorta good ai. You survive the first wave or two then its Over.

Ever played Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars? We were three people versus one balanced AI on brutal (hardest setting) and by the time we had our bases up and ready to start pumping out tanks he had managed to make a base the size of half the map, had about 100 tanks and twice or thrice as many troops and maintaining that speed constantly. By the time I had got my defenses up I got flooded by so many tanks that they managed to take up all space in my base, and there was no sign of the flow of them stopping... It doesn't get much worse. We eventually retried and this time all just tried zerging, and even then we had some problem. They must have like four times as fast money gain, if not insufficient, and ten times as fast build time...

i know starcraft's ai doesnt cheat much. My comment wasn't directed at blizzard RTS.

and i would like to add the game "bloody roar" (i think thats what its called) to your list of fighting games.
