Age of Conan: Conan Composer Wins IFMCA Award

Age of Conan composer Knut Avenstroup Haugen has won another award for his excellent work scoring the music of Age of Conan.

Knut Avenstroup Haugen wins best original score for a video game or interactive media at the IFMCA awards 2008'

The International Film Music Critics Association (IFMCA) is an association of online, print and radio journalists who specialize in writing about original film and television music. Age of Conan was up against some fierce competition last month as it battled the following games:

BEST ORIGINAL SCORE FOR A VIDEO GAME OR INTERACTIVE MEDIA

  • Afrika, music by Wataru Hokoyama
  • Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures, music by Knut Avenstroup Haugen
  • Gears of War 2, music by Steve Jablonsky
  • Mercenaries 2: World in Flames, music by Chris Tilton
  • Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, music by Mark Griskey

Age of Conan came out on top in the end and Knut Avenstroup Haugen took home the prize! Congratulations Knut and his team!

    i have to agree....the music was my favorite part of AoC. I even went out and bought the CD. Great stuff there, wish more developers would do this. Walking into Conall's Valley and hearing that really peaceful music and great voice singing over the speakers, added ALOT to the mood.

    What is it called ? AoC theme tune or something? I would like to own that too.

    Well deserved. The music was by far the best part of the game. If the rest of the game had been at the same level it would have been a breathtaking game.

     

    Oh well, at least now I have a soundtrack for P&P RP sessions XD

    Sometimes just ran to the "Grave Singer" in Conall's valley to listen to the music when reaching the top and watch that breathtaking scenery.No games have ever acheived that for me...

    so a well deserved award

    I havent heared better music in any game, so I am glad Haugen finally get prize for it.

    AoC has/had many faults, but the soundtrack was not one of them. I haven't played the game since my free month ended, but I still listen to the music here and there and I am glad that Knut Avenstroup Haugen got the award for the great work he did. Congratulations!
