These are the people we have to deal with...
This was one, of several trolls posts flooding the Darkfall forums. Sadly, this is the kind of stuff we have to put up with ALL THE TIME. People wonder why the fanboys are rabid, its because, for no discernable reason, these people gravitate towards this game, and awlays have.
"I had a friend in college who made his own 3d gaming engine( and I mean from the ground up) in Louisiana and invited like 35 people to play in a small game (I made the levels and graphics) he made and had no problems on his shit computer that he bought from friggin Wal Mart like 8 years ago. He made this in like 2 months in his spare time from school. AV can't do the same thing with 30 people working FULL TIME in 7 YEARS with high end professional servers. LMAO. For all of you whiners and fanboys, guess what... your game has failed, more miserably than any game has failed in mmo HISTORY. Ultima Online was at least fun to play at the beginning and allowed all who wanted to join in. Let me taste thost tears of sorrow, c mon, let them flow. Cmon and cry devs and close this thread like the cowards you are and let the cockless freaks of fanboys do their worst!"
The level of stupidity displayed in that post makes me lose faith in humanity.

These game has been so over-hyped that I'm not surprised reactions haven't been worse. I can read every forum of this website except this one and not see a single mention of darkfall - its been a very subdued release to a very niche audience which was once a lot larger.

And of course, whining about posts on one fourm by posting about it in another forum is totally a way to raise the level of discourse on the internet.
Honestly, I thought Darkfall was made for the hardest of the hardcore crowd. You know, the kind of players who kill you repeatedly, take all your stuff, and then post photos of themselves teabagging your corpse on the internet. I don't understand all the whines and cries about people posting opinions that you don't like on a message board. Shouldn't a hardcore PvP crowd be able to emotionally handle negative posts?
Unless, of course, that guy's post reinforced some internal fears you have that DF won't live up to the hype you've built up for it in your mind? That's the only reason I can see why anyone would whine about someone else's opinion online.

The real sad part is the OP is most likely telling the truth.
It's almost a philisophical question, what came first? The troll or the hardcore fanboy? The reason DF keeps getting consistently trolled hardcore, is simply the reaction the trolls have been getting from the "fanboys".. You have to understand "trolls" do not care about the game.. Many probably don't even play mmorpgs, but once they find an "easy" target, it becomes a feeding frenzy. They LOVE whipping people into a defensive fury.. Many "trolling" related sites have "how to troll darkfall" pieces.. Even encyclopedia dramatica has a "how to troll darkfall" on it's darkfall page. You can't argue logic with a troll, you can't even have a conversation with one. The only way to beat a troll, is to ignore that they're even there. These threads (and the numerious ones posted EVERYDAY) just encourage them. They're not going to say, "Hey, that guy has a real logical arguement against my statement, I'm going to relent." No.. They're going to say "LOL NUBS, DF SUXX!! *instert here* WAS/IS SO MUCH BETTER THEN DARKFAIL", only with worse spelling and grammer.

You say that trolls have bad spelling and 'GRAMMAR', yet some of the worst writing I've seen has come from rabid fans. Both sides are just as bad. Of course you can't say anything about people's poor grammar because all of a sudden English isn't their first language.
Quit whining people. Discuss things rationally, argue them ignorantly, ignore people who say things you don't agree with if you must, but take care of these things at the point of origin, don't drag them out and start new threads about them. If there is a thread talking about Darkfall's combat and somebody says that 'Darkfail SUXX cuz it's all running in circles and randomly clicking the mouse!' then debate that issue there don't start a new thread going 'You won't believe what this Troll said!'. For the love of all that's holy start realizing that flame wars are a two way street and if you post a thread like this one you are just as bad as any troll.

That definitely pushed me over the edge. I was contemplating getting the game a few months down the line, if it was still around and provided they fixed it, but with douche bags like that running it, I would never.

could we please get correspondent writers and moderators, on the eve forum at mmorpg.com, who are well-versed on eve-online and aren't just passersby pushing buttons? pretty please?

I never laid the blame squarely on the trolls.. Actually, I pretty much put the whole "troll" problem on the fanboy's themselves.. And yes, there are some fanboys that are just as rediculous as the trolls themselves. Oh boy, I also spelled grammar wrong.. ironic ain't it? But, it still stands true.. The worst on both sides make rediculous claims with poor spelling and grammar (I sooo wanted to use an e). The real problem is most of the more hardcore "fanboys" can't tell the difference between an actual internet troll, and a critic or burned former fan of Darkfall's ideas.
But what I said still stands, the more they try to "fight back" against REAL trolls, the worse their troll problem will get. Many of the worst trolls almost always use horrible grammar and spelling, along with leet speak thrown in (but their amateurs, usually from SA or "ebaums") while the most successful trolls go almost unnoticed. But proper trolling seems to be a lost artform as it seems every 12yr old that visited 4chan think they can troll, and/or are actually funny. A talanted troll is, sometimes, a beautiful thing to watch.. But usually, they're so good you don't know that you've been trolled until after you smashed your monitor in a fit of nerdrage.

the blame should be lamed squarely and completely on the darkfall fanbois that have haunted every forum online (that they could find) with darkfall this and darkfall that for about the past year.
a LOT of negative posting people on this forum are a direct result of the idiocy of posting how great darkfall is on other forums, where people really didn't care about darkfall one way or the other.
