Are there other npc enemies anywhere? I just keep hearing people talk about goblin camps over and over as the only npc mobs.
Are there giants, or ogres, or any other mythical creatures to kill?
Not a troll, just curious.
The sleeper awakes...and rides his dirtbike to the mall.

I haven't played the game, and I can't name any of them off the top of my head but I know i've heard people talking about other monsters, everyone just mentions those the most cus they are the easiest to kill at low level and they are near the starting towns.

The goblins are the "noob" mobs in DF. One of the few mobs you will ever get a "waypoint" to.
All other mobs you need to find for yourself. And there are alot of them. But you dont get xp for mobs and its very dangerous to travel outside citys.....so not many seems to explore as much as they should : )
