      Intel E8500 Duo(OC 4.2ghz)  8gb ddr3 1333mhz  Nvidia 9800 Pro 512mb and the rest is all recycled parts, this case and psu are ancient. Whats with the lightweight ram... People around here all seem to go for 4gb.. Maybe your all using XP still?

    I too used it primarily to develop 3D models.



    I also have a mac pro desktop with windows xp x64 on it

    quad core xeon x2

    16gb DDR 3 ram

    ATI 4X card (whatever the one the mac uses)

    integratedHD sound card (doesn't work on every game)



    It seriously hauls ass. I use it as my compositing and render rig...but when games work on it....damn!

      That does not suck Laz. Its a very stable system in fact. I bet you can play any damned thing you want. Mark my words. My system can. I figure if I save a fortune with cheap builds, mine cost 475 bucks, then you can afford to upgrade more often. Frost is just frosting in my opinion, GO FOR THE CAKE!

    Well I have'nt had any problems running any games thats are out right now on pretty high settings so I guess your right its not a bad system at all, just not a beast.

    Aye, they' re Animation rigs, but I still get teh play games on em, muhaha. I couldn't afford em, otherwise.

    Monster rig! =D Still amusing that i have no issues playing any game that comes out a present time (except Aoc you god damn power sucking game) 

     

    Then again, i don't play any games that requires power nowadays.

    Yes... I need to get some faster memory at some point I suppose, to be honest I've always been a "more memory before faster memory" sort of guy.

    Come quite a way from the frist 486 DX2-66 I build in the early 90's. That had a maths co-processor don't you know ... and 4Mb Ram... and a Turbo button!

     

    P.S. What the hell did the Turbo button do anyway... never made a sod of difference as far as I could tell.
