    1.5 months from what date? 1.5 months from now is est release date.

    imagewell i am a noob to this site and i don't want to be misinformed but what the hell does "beta" mean or stand for?

    beta is a free (for a reason image tons of bugs and such) trail of the game they do before release.

    theres two types, open and closed. Open is where basically anyone can create an account and test the game, where closed is only a selected few (current state of WoW).

    If they stick to their current release date of November 15th....

    Then the standard open beta period is usually the last 2 weeks before release. This would put open beta aroound the last day of october or the first day of November.

    This is only an educated guess but I think it is accurate.

    This is a game I really want to try out on Beta before experimenting with the actually game at the expense of real life hard earned dollars.  So many MMOs, so little time.

    I was in the Stress test and I can't wait for this game to go into open beta!! Probably the best online I've played to date!

    i played wow stress test, and it was amazing, i played eq for 4yrs, and i just cant get over how much better this runs, better graphics, smoother, no lag, and eq is laggy and ugly, wow why did i tie so much money into that game lol, anyhow im thinkin that the open beta might start up on oct 15th, they are doin a lot of changing to the servers and stuff, im hopin that its because they are implementing servers for the open beta, im excited!

    Alot of things change in 4 years, and so do new games that come out.  How else would they attract people to play them.  I liked the game play of wow but it was still about the same as any other game, hack/slash/questing and death penalties.  All in all the game was pretty fun and the people real nice as well.  Think alot of games will depend on what type of people are playing it.

    I have never really played any of the WOW games, but I will admit, once I tried the stress test it was very pleasing.

    The rumours true i heard november 15 in a guild forum, by the way its not just hack/slash....well at least its hack/slash with a plot and its going to be added to all the time including holiday speacils!!!How much money on northrend being added by christmas??????

    November 15 for open beta, eh? And that excites you? Do you know what the date is today bud? LMAO.

    I believe Nov 15 is the 'estimated' release date - although nothing official has been posted from Blizzard.

    I heard it in the dwarven blacksmith forum general section,if you play alliance even if your not dwarve or gnome(that helps of course) you can join!!! +you only have to post somthing good once a month and help out guild genreallly and vote for it.Look at vote anouncnt to see its rating(its not bad)

    I believe Nov. 15th.  Why? Because I saw a picture of a December PC Gamer article announcing that you can sign up for the WoW Open Beta.  And that issue comes out around then.  This article was leaked into the public, and I think Blizzard (as I have already said before) is going to hold off the OB.  They'll keep BS'ing us for another month. 

    I hope not.  Those are my worst fears anyway..

    Isn't the game supposed to be released in mid-November? Then it has to go open beta at the end of this month, at the latest... Most likely I think sometime around now would be the best.
