Dear all,

I'm a Dark and Light team survivor...

First of all, excuse my poor English.

Every naughty things that have been said on the poor level of English within the team was true... No one of us is born in the Shakespeare's country, and writing in this language is often an effort rewarded with low results...

Of course, I don't have any official mission now because, as you already know, the game is down.

My life is now turned toward something else, but I often look back on what I've felt to be a great adventure, despite all the suffering and the final fail. Sometimes, I even launch my "DnL offline client" just to run in the forests and fly in the mountains. Even if the game had its problems, in the end, I couldn't find another MMORPG with such a special feeling. Of course, this is only my point of view !

I'm still in touch with some of the team members, and this first fail has not destroyed the dream to see another game released in a (probably very far) future. And this for at least one reason : all the human and economical aspects forced us to release something that was far from the initial concept, mainly based on roleplay for a mature public. I'm talking about all the concepts that convinced a community of more than 300 000 persons before the "suicide" release of the game in 2005.

Thinking about it, SOG could stand for "Suicide Of the Game".

But, believe me, this was a default and emergency decision, and not a decision of the heart. Nobody really had the choice.

Between the immediate death and "any other option", you always choose the solution that gives you more seconds to live !

Anyway : I'm here to tell you that, to be frank, I'm not sure of what's happening with this website which should be obviously closed !

From my point of view, the provider didn't have the heart the shutdown this beautiful website, and he probably didn't receive a clear order to do it !

The good point is that the flame is not blown yet ! And if nobody takes care about it, maybe it will live for years !!! Is it a sign ??? ;-)

Well, I'm leaving now. I have a hard day of work tomorrow and it's beginning to be late in Reunion Island.

Ohhh, one more thing... I've been on the wikipedia link and... the people who published this funny thing are not what we could call "impartial", and from what I've read in the details, I could imagine the source of the information.

Currently, the trial is still far from being over, so, we should let the justice make his job, and whe should not necessary trust the persons who speak the most. And anyway, now... Who cares ??? (except the persons that suffered of it and want the justice done).

To conclude, even if I'm not really the person who should communicate here, I would like to thank all the persons that supported us, and especialy the one that sent us encouraging emails when the time was bad. It's a shame that the poor communication in this project didn't allow us to send you a real feedback of what we feeled and how happy we were to find your positive messages. You really helped us more than you can imagine, and it's a shame that nobody could "simply" say : THANK YOU GUYS !

Well, hope to find you again in the future.

May the life bring you peace and happiness.

Best regards,

David

David Grossi was wrong on one point when he wrote this message on dark and light forum :

    - NPCube lost in appeal for its claim at the Clermond-Ferrand court, therefore this trial is over (already judged twice, and twice the judge ruled against NPCube)

    - Neither Vincent Pourieux nor NPCube won for the trial settled in the TGI Paris. A point of law : contrary to the US, where the defender can fill a separate claim to gain money, the french justice "does everything in one claim", ie orders the loser to retribute the winner (be it the claimer or the attacked). Another point of law : the loser often has to pay the lawyer fees. It was not the case in the Paris judgement, which is quite interesting - I tend to think that the judge estimated that, since NPCube was no more, there was no reason to carry on the judgement ...

I kinda love also the comment he made about Wikipedia. Especially after all the viral marketing NPCube did.

i am not sure who david is but i would like to say i would like to thank all the people that helped made this Game so we chould play it.

even if the game was not ready i loved the feeling of the game, the freedom the game.

this game  needs to be made.

i do not know everything that happed but anyone can tell something went really wrong with it.

the programers that worked for NPCube yes even Pix gave us something we all wanted, well they tried to anyways.

there has not been another game out there that has filled the void this game has left. there is something about the world and the freedom this game gave us.

broken skills and all the problems i think if they would have left its level cap at 35 and left the skills like in SOG.

i wish someone would buy the rights from both Pix and NP3 and then rework the game.

Thanks to all that lets us play this game "Dark and Light" that will leave a hole in my Heart, that so far no other game has been able to fill. we hated alot of the problems but the Games ideas and the ones that where in the game still keep us dreaming of what can be.,
