Entirely mission based?

After reading the Q and A, it sounds like the game will be entirely misstion based and have no free roaming. Did anyone else get that impression?

"Within a certain scope we will make it possible for low level players to experience exciting PvP combat together with high level players. For this purpose, special PvP missions will be available in which large player groups of different levels can engage each other."

Quotes like that and others make me wonder. Also, they said nothing of the placement of guild stations, it sounded like it could be just an instance where guilds hang out and repair, craft, outfit ships. They also said nothing of the station having defenses.

    You could say they said allmost notning in their  Q and A. I hope there will be decent faq soon.

    i dunno but i think missions do not play a big role in black prophecy:

     ... a fast levelling curve, giving players access to all areas of the game with relatively little time invested.

    sounds for me like guild wars. let's hope they do not build in templates etc..

    What does that have to do with missions? You can have a fast leveling curve with little time invested while having a mission-centric game.

    I would take it that Missions will be the main way to get expirience and possilbe money. With this i believe that you could upgrade your ship and such. Unfortunately we don't know much yet about this game except on the few screenshots and the two videos we were given.

    I really do hope that they don't borrow the missions of games like EvE or Freelancer which are "get to point A and kill targets X and Y"

    I do hope and based on the descriptions hope that they make missions more stronger and have more than one assignment. For example, instead of the "get to point A and kill targets X and Y"... the few missions would be more like the Campaign of Freelancer in which you "get to point A with two other pilots (npc or player) and kill target X", then "get to point B and intercept shipments", finally "get to point C and deliver the shipments to station Y"

    I do have high expectations for this game and it greatly looks like a Freelancer MMO which in reality i hope it is with maybe a different lore or story but has the skill in it unlike the grind-fest of EvE and they "get a good ship and get good missles and auto fight".

    A lot more information still needs to be revealed personally. But the missions will be as they are in most games to progress the storylines of the game (written by Michael Marrak). From what I have been reading the story should be quite good. And i would doubt that the game would sololy be mission based. i could see doing missions for certain ship components, unlocking areas, and of course extra experience and loot. We have to wait a bit longer because there still needs to be a lot more information released about BP. Maybe I will write them and see what i can find out.
