Hello everyone!
I'm currently playing WoW and have since 2004. I also have played Lineage 2 and EverQuest 2. I have been trying to read as much as I can on this upcoming MMO from NCSoft. I would like to ask a favor from some of you all that frequent this forum.
To begin with, I play with a philosophy that most all things in an MMO have some type of function and purpose to plot and storyline. Yes, yes, I was also once a roleplayer. But, even now I see and understand that a well-developed and healthy MMO has a working economy. Now, ahem, I didn't say healthy, just that there is open trade and an opportunity to apply ones trade and create some wealth. Crafting plays an intergal role in development of economies and developing a strong community within guilds as well as server-wide harmony.
Unfortunately, Lineage 2 failed, to some extent, due to the fact that only one race was given crafting abilities and crafting was pretty much a hit or miss proposition. WoW developed a better crafting method up until you gain the highest levels at 60, 70, and 80. At that point you really don't get to craft grand gear for anyone but yourself, for the most part. EverQuest 2 has a wonderfully challenging and somewhat addicting crafting style, however finding mats are a terrible grind as there generally is very little of what you need and only in a relatively small area. Thus, it's a waiting game for materials needed to respawn and that makes this a large time-sink.
My question here is this. Will Aion allow everyone an opportunity to craft and how is harvesting to be done? Additionally, does someone out there have a link that further explains what crafting is like in the game? I happened upon a YouTube that showed some crafting, but really, I didn't quite get the gist of it.

No its not, all it does is give you the ability to change your toons appearance in-game. No gear or items is being sold.
