What do you take with you?

There is a diference in how many play this game. The prospect of losing everything leads to some players who are obviously  risk takers while some play it conservative.

So, what items do you wear or take when you go out to harvest; when you go out to hunt PVE; when you go out to hunt PvP.

Full T4 equipment? do you bring pots? Mounts?

Just working to gauge the DF playstyles

    It depends:

If i have friends with me, i take everything. Mounts, armour, weapons, potions and tools. I dare not to think how much i have lost.

If i am alone, i only bring the most important. maybe a mount for exploring, some arrowns for the bow and some potions.

When you are alone out in the outback, and get spotted by a group of PKers.....you are dead if you cant hide or flee.

Fair question. Rule is the same as in EVE Online, fly what you can afford to lose. That said:

If I need some quick gold, I kill some goblins basically naked.

Harvesting I wear basic gear, chainmail with sword and board.

PVP I wear the best gear I have or can make, currently full banded with skill level appropriate weapons.

I bring Stam and Health Pots. I bring food as well.

Mounts are great for PVP as you can travel large distances quickly and they provide you with some tactical advantages on the battlefield.

The cool thing is that you can harvest for a couple hours, kill a few goblins and then craft some gear and go have some PVP fun, or you can get a group together and go do some higher level PVE stuff against tougher mobs that drop nice loot.

I think I am going to get a group and do some of the dungeons in a couple days, as I have not done any of those yet.

For harvesting, I usually go out naked with my starter weapons and harvesting tools only.   Since harvesting drains stamina, and you are unable to look around as much, you are an easier target.  It just doesn't make sense to carry anything you don't need.

For PvE, it depends on what camp we are going to.   If there are a few of us doing easy or moderate mobs, I'll bring some of my mid-range stuff.   If I have a large guild group with me and doing some harder stuff, I'll break out the big guns.

PvP it depends again on the situation.   If it is a small crew of us going out ganking in enemy lands, I'll bring my mount, some pots, and some mid range gear in case I have to get off the mount and get personal with someone.   Last night however, I was involved in my first several hundred person war, and we all brought our Sunday best to this.

Thanks for the answers. I keep it low. Basically I gather naked and PVE/PvP only with what eq I can craft. I kinda feel wimpy about doing it that way

Haven't played this game but I was so rich in Ultima Online I just took everything I wanted. Too many regs but it didn't matter if I died. I have millions of regs back in my house :)

In this game and starting off I would take what I need to survive to do whatever I am doing. PvE or PvP or whatever it happens to be. No need for extra as you risk losing it. I was always some what of a risk taker in the beginning though. Ending up staying too long in a dungeon and then the PKers came!

    Oops!

Bring back the OLD UO so I can play again

If I go out harvesting, I'll go out with usually an incomplete set of cloth or naked.  I'll bring my sickle, of course.  Depending on how far out I'm harvesting, I might pack 3 stamina potions (incase I need to make a run for it).  I like taking cloth armor since it's so dark that it helps camoflouge at night.  Oh, and I also bring some food, to help action regen while harvesting.

If I go to farm mobs, I'll usually go in a full suit of studded armor.  I'll bring food and usually 3 stam and health pots.  I'll carry a cheap bow, maybe 30 arrows, and just use my starter sword and staff for actually killing the mobs... since they don't lose condition.  I have the pots, bow, and arrows incase I get jumped.  I don't use them against monsters, generally.  Lately, I've looted a lot of banded off people, and I have plenty of spare banded sets, so I've been PvEing in banded for the past few days.  I will sometimes go mounted.

If I go PKing, I roll with my best (I ain't no bitch).  Mainly plate armor with some scale thrown in, along with a few pieces of black knight armor.  I'll go out with a rank 20 bow and 100 arrows, a rank 30 2h sword, a rank 20 staff, 5 moderate stam/health potions, 5 lesser stam/health potions, a stack of my best food (usually 10 or so will do, since it lasts so long), a stack of reagents, a 1h sword (for mounted combat), and a mount.

I roll solo 90% of the time, and some days I end up running from a lot of groups on my mount, but if I run into 1, 2, 3, and sometimes even 4 people, I will fight.

Hyperion are yummy... Covert Operations are scary...

I've gotten many an invite to join a clan, but I'm waiting till my friends can get ingame and get educated.  Then we will make a decision together.

When I go pk I take out studded or normal leather set and r40 polearm, 50 arrows, r20 bow and r20 staff, 20 sulfur, 20 nacre, 20 mandrake, 20 resin, 10 food, few stam pots and few health pots.

Pve is the same but armor is banded, skinning knife and x2-4 the reagents.

This remains such a small thread... I guess it's because so FEW of the people posting here on the mmorpg.com boards have actually played the game, but boy are they happy to shoot it down.
