It's good to be king
March 2009 marks The O’Reilly Factor’s 100th consecutive month as the top-rated cable news program. Bill O’Reilly, the show’s bombastic star, talks to B&C Programming Editor Marisa Guthrie about the new president, skepticism toward the mainstream media and what happens when he bumps into NBC Universal chief Jeff Zucker.
First of all, congratulations on 100 consecutive months as the top-rated program on cable news. That’s quite an accomplishment, especially in this day and age.
I don’t think it’s ever been done in any kind of TV milieu. We had our people research all programs going back to the’ 50s, like Gunsmoke and things like that. Nobody’s ever stayed on top this long.

Its because when it comes to Right Wing Conservative News channels during primetime, there is only 1 choice. O'Rielly. When it comes to Liberal News Channels, there are 3 choices. When it comes to non-partisan News Channels in the US, they aren't showing anything. The ratings difference is only going to increase under a Democrat Majority as people will look for someone who speaks from a different perspective.
well when hes not in the spotlight for saying something absolutly rediculous, somebody is accusing him of being absolutly rediculous.
Its a rather effective cycle for staying on top... kinda the Madonna approach to TV news.
after 6 or so years, I had to change it a little...
Bill O'Reilly is the Americal Idol of the news world.
Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL!

I think you have it backwards. Under a democrat majority, his viewership is only going to increase as people wonder wtf is happening to the world around them.
This should also show anyone with a sense of logic that the majority prefer conservatism over liberalism.
But of couse, Bill O'rielly lies and everything he says on his show is skewed and no one trusts him. Right?
When a piscating wizard floods every thread I can understand why people leave.
Congrats Bill O'rielly And Fox News.
If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude; greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We seek not your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you; May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.

Well in the words of many conservatives on this board.
"Every cable news station except for Fox is left wing biased."
So if that were true and we added up the ratings between the so-called left wing stations and compared them to Fox news, who wins? Not Fox news.
So how does that whole, majority prefers conservatism argument stack up? Especially since the majority voted liberal in the election?
You're just spewing BS.

Well Bill O'Riely certainly loves to spin. in fact, fox news in general loves a good spin every now and then.

You have it wrong, the majority of the vote went to a liberal not that the majority voted for a liberal. You also don't just add up the little people to make a giant. Your being very narrow in your argument. For example, talk radio is mainly conservative while all liberal shows fail at their ratings. You can cite congresses attempts at the fairness doctrine to know how real the conservative viewship is on radio. The one source for conservatism in tv media, mainly populated with liberal views is completely dominated by a conservative show.
You have no clue.
