Hey gang, What do you guys think of this idea? Should Blizzard create special servers where people must take an IQ test to enter? The people with IQ's 130 and higher will be allowed to enter. So, what do you think, is my idea dumb, or not? If you think my idea is stupid, please don't flame me too bad. I can take a happy ending but I can't stand a perfect storm... Ichben Einberliner edit: The person would not have to take the IQ test every time he or she wants to play the game. The IQ test would be taken, let's say, every 6 months.
I'm not going to deconstruct every sentence, just one, because it's hilarious.
"ichben Einberliner", should be, "Ich bin ein Berliner". Which in itself is funny, because it isn't proper German (assuming you know the original reference, because it doesn't make any sense within the context of your post). What the original speaker was trying to say was "I am a person from Berlin", or a "citizen of Berlin", the correct German would be "Ich bin Berliner". By using the article "ein", he is stating "I am a [Jelly Donut]", (a Berliner's closest cousin is a Jelly Donut). Which again, is interesting because you are using it in a post to suggest that there should be 130+ IQ servers (which implies you too have a 130+ IQ).
I think my point is obvious.

If that had a server for people 21 and older, I would re-sub. I just can't stand the kids. I hope they all put forks in their electrical sockets one day.
As might I, although I'm not quite certain that it's necessarily just kids that are ruining the game for me. Part of the WoW attraction is the simplicity required to be "special" or rather to feel elite. In my opinion, Blizzard is destroying what was once a good game for me, by doing this and other things to cater to the mainstream simpletons out there.
In addition, the constant shuffling of talents leading to a specific class being powerful, which in turn causes everyone to swarm to play said class followed by a subsequent nerf soon after, is annoying to say the least. However, I believe this shuffling to be Blizzard's intention to draw back the flock that wander from the game temporarily upon boredom.
It further annoys me in regards to the fact that Blizzard is constantly selling out to the almighty dollar by continuously giving it's users the ability to change more and more player related features for a price.
Finally, the fact that Blizzard does absolutely nothing to enforce it's own policies on the roleplay servers reminds me too much of those parents that ignore their kids while those same kids run amuck and/or run rampant over anyone and anything that stands in their way. The very reason that I play this genre of games is to lose myself within the game world and temporarily rid myself of the common annoyances of everyday life. However, with WoW it's like leaving your job after a stressful day of work to go sit in the center of a circle of a large group of misbehaving kids to referee a game of Duck, Duck, Goose.
College degree server and IQ server have to be about the dumbest ideas ii have herad of in a while. Neither of which would achieve what you hope it would.

This idea is definitely not in the spirit of egalitarianism and I can see why some might find it quite offensive. That being said, I'd actually LOVE to see this as a social experiment to see how it would affect gameplay/ community interactions. I have an impression based completely on my own observations that people with higher intelligence are much less inclined toward agression and do not enjoy destruction as much as creativity and cooperation.. this of course has big exceptions (what would the entire world of fiction/ sci-fi/ fantasy gaming be without evil geniuses??). It seems to me that evolution of higher intelligence will naturally foster less unnecessary agression. Even smart folks know you can't avoid taking the gloves off sometimes however. Congrats on creating a lightning rod of a thread guaranteed to create some interesting exchanges. By the way my interest is purely academic- I only lasted in WoW about 3 months a couple years ago. The thread title caught my eye.
I would love to see this as a social experiment as well Mr. Enkindu. It's a shame not a lot of people in this thread understood what I was trying to portray when I proposed this idea.

Could we assume that the people that failed to understand what you were trying to portray would be the same people unable to play on said server?
Well said Mr. Abrahmn, well said indeed. You my friend are a gentleman and a scholar. A gentleman and a SCHOLAR!!!!!
This thread Wins... congratulations all round. Thank you Ichben. I'm sorry I missed you in SWG; I would certainly have stayed to watch your virtual gyrations as you shook that sumo-like frame. But how cruel life would be if in some future gameworld we were segregated simply because of our different intellects. And what if I wanted to play with a friend or relative -even spouse - but only one of us passed the IQ test.
I miss all the people in SWG. I miss the adventure and excitment of the blaster fights and the entertainment in the cantinas.
I understand this Mensa server could cause the problems you mentioned, but don't you think it would be an interesting social experiment?

If I brought along my Genius-in-a-Box kit, can I join your server? Mr. Roy said it really works!

I would come back if computers come with a drivers license slot. Then have a few servers that you would have to show that your 21.
But then all the kids would have their mothers sticking their's in, so it may not work.
WoW is the replacement for AOL chat. 3 years ago it was instant messaging to be cool in school, now its WoW !!!
