Time to find out if it's as fail as everyone makes it out to be, or as great as some say it is. I'll be back to post my opinions in a few days after playing it
The first days in DF are tough. My suggestion is make your final assesment after you join a clan. Running solo is a tough life in DF, and not for the faint of heart

I was hoping to join a clan and get in contact with them before I even make my character
Too bad the gaming community im apart of doesnt have an active darkfall branch.

Please listen to Daarco and do not approach this game like the theme park games that have preceeded it, you will get slaughtered and quit from frustration. Also finding a clan is key, if you make this a priority your chances of survival will increase dramatically and at the same time you will be exposed to a lot more of what the game has to offer.
i'm currently working on finding a clan myself. the begining is tough but once you figure out how everything works it gets a lot easier down the road. my only problem with the game is i wish they would lable banks on the mini map. i really don't care for or need anything else but a damn bank marker (maybe there is one but i havn't found it?)
watch out if you hit a player more then twice when your killing goblins because the players are more then happy to gank your ass if you go grey. i had to dodge arrows and mana missles for 2 minutes while i was grey one time, if he hit me 1 more time before went blue the player would of got me (and i finally found pants that time). i was personally having problems getting into it myself but the longer i played the more it started to grow on me. but then again... i like bad games (TR anyone?)
Welcome. You may spend your first couple of hours in various forms of gathering fighting etc and then find a clan. I play Ork and we have an alliance with many other clans at Moonclaw.
Staying in the starting area may help because monsters are not that hard, but most people who play have the wrong impression of darkfall. Delete all the quests from your journal. A few hours in a clan will save you a week of wondering what really goes on.
Make a mahirim or an ork and visit us. Near moonclaw there are 2 cities that i know of. At the left is the city of exodus (near the river) and a little to the se the is the city of Inquisition. You can be safe there but the only problem is that the monsters are hard. Apart from that you can practice with your guildmates and learn how to fight. Find a leader of any clan and ask to join.
