One realm to rule them all....

Hey gang, it's me again. I have another "idea" to present to you so I want you to listen and I want you to listen well because this idea has the capability to change your life in ways you can't even imagine, so without further ado, here is my "idea"....

Gang, how would you feel if you could play with millions upon millions of people on one super realm? A realm so massive and so big it will overwhelm your senses in ways you cannot even imagine? Would you like playing on a realm with 100,000 people at once? Do you think it will enhance your gameplay or immersion experience? Do you think it would make it easier for you to play with friends instead of having to transfer to different realms?

Or if one realm is too much for you mind to handle, how about 5 main realms? Tell me your thoughts gang, don't hold back my friends, please don't hold back, for your father's sake PLEASE DO NOT HOLD BACK!!!!!

Nah good as it sounds wow wasnt designed around single server. THe world isn big enough and there are simply too many players!

What if the gods at Blizzard could make the world bigger to handle the massive amount of players? Would you still go for it? Or do you still think I'm a crazy goose?

So far, I have seen a hundred players gather in one place cause serious amounts of lag an an average PC system to the point where the game FPS drops to single digits. That's in any of the games that I have played do date except one: RFonline. Don't know why, large scale battles just seemed to flow in that game better than any I've ever played. If there is a massive leap in server tech and programming and they could pull it off on an average system with an average net connection.

potentially, yes ofc, itd be great (need atleast 2 servers tho to cope with horde and alliance)

 

just look how much difference the cross realm bgs make to the game, more players to pool with = more potential action. but then bigger world is less..homely with even more room for the twats who drag the game down to hide in. no ignore list could be big enough!

I know corss realm Battle grounds are cool, but what about cross realm servers? How would you feel if players could change realms for free? Suppose the gods on cloud Blizzard would allow the players to cross over to different realms for free? No transfer charge, no pre-conditions, just freely change from server to sever within a game through portal, what would you think of this my friend?
