How to run SRO on a Mac

Well. I'm gonna explain here how to run Silkroad Online on a Apple Mac. Can be a macbook or an Imac, doesn't matter.

What we need for this is :

- A Mac ( http://www.apple.com/mac )

- CrossOver Games ( http://www.codeweavers.com/products/cxgames )

- Silkroadonline ( http://www.silkroadonline.net )

- Internet ( hehe )

Oke, I'm writing this guide knowing that you got all the stuff you need already downloaded. Like Cross over and SRO are downloaded and ready to be installed. For this guide I am using CrossOver Games version 7.2.0

Here we go:

Start installing CrossOver Games on your mac. That shouldn't be a problem it just guides u trough it.

Then when it is installed open CrossOver games and go to "Configure" then "Install Software" then "Install unsupported software" then "Continue" then mark "Install in to a new bottle" then click "Create Bottle" after you are done with making the bottle, select the installer of silkroad and it will start to install silkroadonline. After it is done with installing it will update the SRO game and when that is done click "Exit" in the SRO starter and then just click Finish in the "CrossOver Games installer".

Now, thats done. SRO has been installed, patched and works fine.

But. For some Mac's it doesn't work yet. Some just start the game now and it works fine. For some it just gives a white screen plays the music and thats it.

Well i'm here gonna explain how to fix the white screen to the game screen

It aint that hard ^_^ Cuz all we gotta do is make it run in a window.

Open CrossOver Games. Then go to "Configure" and "Manage Bottles" click the bottle where you installed SRO in. Click on "Control Panel" and then click on "WineCFG" Either double click on it or press on "Launch Selected Item".

After you done that a Windows like window will popup. Then click on the tab called "Graphics" then mark the option "Emulate a virtual destkop" And fill in the size of the window you want sro to work in. As I got a 15" screen, I run SRO in a 800x600 screen to chat a bit. So I set my X+Y to 800x600. Press "Apply". Close the "Manage Bottle". Go to "Programs" > "Joymax" > "Silkroad" > "Silkroad" and it will start and work.

i did exactly what u said and before i start up the client it gives me an error saying "failed to initialize netengine error 1527" do you know how to fix this and if not how i can run the program where it won't show that error i have tried re downloading so many times if u could help please get back to me

anyone got any idea how to download and install silk road so that it works on a mac?
