Just got done playing CB3, came out of it breathless, the story line is so rich you feel like a king even though everyone around you has the same quests, the eviroments are so full of life it brings a tear to the eye, it brings me great joy to play Aion, i dont feel locked in like most mmos, its a sense of freedom, your efforts are rewarded with worth while possessions instead of just useless crap you get from a kill # of mobs quest, the huge landscapes mix right into the quests, its not just about killing things or grinding, you have to use the enviroment to get around and explore, some times a quest might ask you to go into a high level zone and you need to find a safe path through, all while expiriencing the graphic marvel known as Aion, to be able to jump off a cliff and descend into a mist shrouded forest with streaming white angel wings on your back is somthing that will never grow old for me. To see the heat rising up from a barren waste lands parched soil along with the amazing unique musical themes for each and every location, puts your mind into a trance it draws you in. The skills you learn arent just for button mashing, how you arrange them and what sequence you put them or when you use them can make or break you, the character creation brings an unparalleled sense of customization, every character being unique no cookie cutters here.
The game lives the game breathes, and you are a key part of it all what more could you ask for?
This is my dream game been looking for a long time and i know i will enjoy this for years to come, i hope some of you see these qualities in Aion, it would be unfortunate to pass up this game without at least giving it once shot.

Yes, this game is going to be a great game for a long time. Cant wait till release day.
I'm sure alot of losers are going to trash you for sharing this opinion, but I'm glad to know I'm not the only one enjoying this game. Community is soooo important in a game like this, and people like you are just the type of people that will make the community great. Hopefully your enthusiasm will spread.
Yes the game is breathtaking! gliding off a high mountain peak is graphically amazing and the game client performs flawlessly. I've never played a MMO that has been released this stable.
The main draw for me in Aion is the PvP aspect :
- fortresses
- flight combat
- fighting open world bosses
- rift ganking
This will all happen on a fluid game client, which ncsoft should be commended for. Where WAR and WoW failed miserably in the PvP department, NCsoft has hit a home run with Aion!
GW2 the future of MMO gaming
Ok.. you are wasting your time playing games.. You should be writing books on LIFE in the small blue ball. It would be a joy to read lol..
I really wish I was playing YOUR game. " your efforts are rewarded with worth while possessions" what are these? Well armor, weapons, blah blah.. there are NOT tons of different ones for each level. No really what? ONE green shoes, ONE green top, one green pants. You cant go to the borker and by a DIFFERENT chest .. its GRAY or Green.. ONE KIND. Only as you get really higher and you MAKE something different. You do get crap all the time when you kill. You are just kill 5, kill 10, talk to tom, tom tells you talk to steve, steve tells you to talk to mary, mary tells you to talk to Tom again. And what maps are you on? It takes less than a 2 min to go from on edge to the other. Only the ABYSS is big .. compaired to the rest of th maps.
Op.. have you ever played World of Warcraft? Ok that is HUGH landscapes.
you are on a path.. I cant seem to find this cliff where I am descending into a mist shrouded forest? I wish.. sounds wonderful.
Remember Farcry.. ok thats how old the graphics are. Yes they did a great job on it.
Just trying to let others know the game is NOT as beautiful and wonderful and breathtaking as yours was.. man I wish.. I love yours!
And when OPEN beta comes PLAY the game .. see for your self if its as wonderful and dreamie as Vesp put it so eloquently.
For me its way to small and simple, no depth to it just a washed over aged client (graphics engine). Go play some free2play for a day or two then play Aion and you will see just what you will be PAYING to play. Trust me this is not some major MMO like lotor, WAR or AOC .. not even the big WOW when compaired to Aion.. Aion has nice graphics.. the rest is just way to easy.
The op did leave out one thing. SEARCH about what its like to level after like level 25. How wonderful and easy lmao.. grind time..
I swear I must be the only one to not like this game in the least. It can be summed up as "generic Korean meets WoW 09" in my eyes, though there are some perks. I really enjoyed the trade skills and the freedom of gathering raw materials as well as the skill combos that adds SLIGHT flare to combat. But in general from what I've seen of the game it is very small scale and lacking depth of any kind.
On a side note, what exactly is the story everyone is bragging about? I've seen nothing but poorly pieced together quests that don't have any cohesiveness. Unless the game drastically changes post 20, there's nothing remotely interesting about this gamefor me to play it come release.
Man, you should become a literature writer. You know how to combine your words, I read that wall of text with no paragraphs and I didn't even feel it.
Agreed with pretty much everything there, and don't mind the trolls, they believe a RPG with levels, quests, equipment and skills are a clone of WoW. But trolls, trust me, as much as this may sound shocking, all of these existed before WoW.
Well yeah, it's an mmo! Community is what can make or break a game no matter how good the mechanics! Even if this game is same ol' same ol', a good community can make it fun!
I like your post. Don't let the naysayers drag you down. If you like the game this much, then there's bound to be quite the community, and the naysayers can go play something else or not play anything at all (i.e. their typical status).
I do think I have tried just about every MMO on the market but there must be a game out there that I have not tried. What I want to know is what game out there has the things that you say Aion lacks? Where is the game that Aion should look at and wish it played half as good? I really want to know so I can go try it.
This goes to the op, you must be using your own imagination to find everything so perfect and flawless in this game lol. Do just 1 thing for me please go swim or just enter a deep water area also try to change to some other race ... ops you can't. Also pvp against a guy 20 levels lower that is using damage hacks to kick your ass in 1-2 hits.
I too found the graphics very beautiful and the gameplay was fun as well. However i will reserver judgment on the game until allowed into the areas where the pvp starts. Ive seen people post that while its alwasy present its optional for the most part and ive seen others post that it will be a gankfest. As said will wait and see before proclaiming Aion to be the game for me.
And that is probably a very smart thing to do.
Nice to hear your perspective. I got wrapped up in the story also. It is really well done.
Good post and I agree, I really like the game. Something about it just draws me in. September cannot come quick enough for me, I mean sure I like playing the beta's but I just want to start playing the full game dammit!
And to the people who don't like the game - I hope you find a game someday that you do like playing. I know how it feels when you look forward to something and it turns out to be not what you expected.
There's nothing in this "deep water" to incite players to go swim around in it. NCSoft has done this with Lineage and Lineage 2, until they implemented underwater content (which was a lot of fun). As for other races, what are you talking about? You can MAKE your own race. Want to be a giant? You can. Want to be a dwarf? You can. Want to be an elf? You can. Just because you didn't play with the character customization doesn't mean there isn't possibilities. Hacks aren't going to be in NA game.. so your last point is null.
Is this really all the trolls have..? Putting up false information and judging a game before most of the content is out..? We're not playing the full game, yet. This is a Closed Beta, if you hadn't noticed. And if some research was done, you'd see there is already several patches being included in the Retail Version.
Yea its going good my cousin even joined up and is loving it, Some little things im not to kean on but i got a pre order already my cousin pre ordered the collector addition eeek gawds! Im happy we finaly get a mmo released in a true triple A quality and its about fookin time to. Altho this Cb3 is bloody lagg spike city i cant play at the moments it was fine thursday and friday but now im freezing up constantly and death cost money doh
Umm. Ive played up to 20 on 2 characters and have done pvp in alliances many times this beta and I have yet to see any cheats. That's for this NA beta going on now.
And how do you know that the player was 20 lvls lower than you.
You threw it out there now please explain ?
Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries...
If there would be a civil discussion about positives and negatives of this game, then all is fine. But all the hyping and viral marketing...meh.
I didnt know you could do PVP at level 20. I spent my beta time leveling a few toons to see what each had to offer. At what level can you actually see some PVP?
At 20+ you hit the Areas with Rifts. Every 2 hours ... 50 Players can come through the Rifts. That doesn`t mean there will always be 50 players and that you`ll stumble upon them every time.

Thank you. I didnt know that i thought PVP started at 25. Next beta i will just roll one toon and level up and go take a peek. Very pretty game and i love what ive seen just need to see how the PVP is to seal the deal. Thanks again.

At 25 you can enter the Abyss. There its full-time PvP. Its were the RvR takes place. Castle Sieges etc....
While, I respect your opinion, I do have to wonder if we're both playing the same game. The progression and the zones are completely linear. There is no "freedom." Unless by "freedom" you mean choosing between following linear progression of quests or mindlessly grinding mobs till you level up.
Also, while the graphics are pretty, I would hardly call it a "graphic marvel." The game uses an outdated engine and low resolution textures for certain landscape elements.
I'm glad that you had a good time, even if you did exaggerate a bit in your review.
I strongly disagree with the OP,but we each have our opinion,i just feel mine is a little more qualified, because i do know what i see in every game on the market.I can spot quality and effort easily while others seem blinded by niche ideas.
It is VERY obvious the OP like many others was fascinated by flying,as he stated he was all gitty the first time he got to use the glide/space bar.I saw the same thing in EQ when tons of male players were playing the FAE,i thought ridiculous for male players to be a dainty little fairy like critter in a game.
I might point out that flying does not make this a great game,i am free to listen to any parts of the game that are done better than any other game?
IMO the game has the whole NCSOFT feel to it,it is 100% a Lineage clone with flying. The usual cheap design you expect from asian F2P games, like no doors on any of the buildings...geesh cheap 101.Of course the usual asian player kiosks,no auction house [sorry there is a [BROKER] but i gues everyting cannot be sold on it,and yes they like to plop their players right on top of a useful npc just to annoy other players i guess. The gear looks the same no matter ,just like AOC that is a big fail for customization. The embedding of shards onto the gear IMO did nothing to change anything,i did not notice any difference in a battle,it stil ltook the same sequence of spells to kil la mob.nothing changed.
Lack of classes, lack of races is again a cheap design that took less effort. The camera acts goofy when using the click to move,it often spits you back not allowing you to move ,but you can navigate the exact same route using the arrows keys,so it is the camera that is buggy.
Textures throughout the game are low res,the lack of shader use is evident and when it is used it is used poorly. This is a VERY low poly game, any low end PC should be able to run it,the tech is old school for the most part.Common use of lights with no light sources, but i guess most games do that all wrong. At least they could have had some sort of fire fly to explain the glowing light fixtures as being realistic.
I mean people need to start looking at a game,i mean LOOK with their eyes not just generalize that a game is great because they had some exhilirating experience hitting the space bar to glide.Giant bronto mobs i nthe water, yet they have no interaction with the game at all,so why bother?Takes away from the realism if some of the mobs act like they really don't exist.
Maybe i am too picky? probably yes,but that is what i expect from games ,i look at everything, not niche ideas or cutesy flamingos.I actually look at the game design and the game play,AION is very weak in both those areas.
I will give AION props for having a great ARTISTIC look, but the tech is so low quality it takes away from the potential that could have been.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
They are brokers in the game.
