-Any song from the Kingdom Hearts series, excluding the awful sing-alongs in Atlantis from KH2
-Still Alive from Portal
-Frog's Theme from Chrono Trigger
-Most of the music in Lost Odyssey (a very underrated game)
-More Than A Feeling by Boston in Rock Band 2 (sorry, had to cheat on this one )
-Final Fantasy Tactics opening theme
-Music from the opening cutscene of FF8
-Most of the music from Wild Arms 2
-Most of the music from Shadow of the Colossus
But overall, I think I'm going to have to say "Dearly Beloved" from Kingdom Hearts. There is so much amazing music in video games that this is an extremely hard one to pick... But for some reason, Dearly Beloved just sends a mixed bag of emotions every time I hear it. It's one of those simple yet beautiful songs where you don't know whether to cry or smile when you hear it.

I'm gonna have to agree with you there. That song is really really good. Since you brought it up, I started listening to it again. I wish i had my copies of the game still. Definitely a couple games to hold on to since they were made very well.
The entire soundtrack to Final Fantasy 6. Well pretty much anything created by Nobuo Uematsu. That man has to be the greatest modern day composser in the world. That man could make Beethoven hear again.
Some of the soundtracks from games like Halo or even PSP games (Monster Hunter Freedom 2) are really epic. Atlantica online has a good soundtrack but I wish they would have some new ones in there >>
Best music in games nostalgia Double Dragon theme song - Turrican 2 - Concerto for Lazers and enemies Shadow of the Beast 2 - Gameover theme in particular http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PGf5xpaRIx8&feature=related a must to check that out for a 1991 made game Robocop on the gameboy - Was actually used in an Artison advert 8 bit classic midi Last Samurai - more amiga classic opening theme.. MMO specific -Everquests Sea theme and later bastion of thunder -AOC has solid music overall no stand out track though -DOAC the simple themes as you entered various cities like 20 second clips..were awesome (esp midgard)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IccJTfgifeI go to 6:25 although a John Willams piece, it fits incredibly well with the game, an awesome cut scene overall, his descent into the death star followed by firing up a blue saber, amazing scene.
And finally, my favourite of all time from the original Operation Flashpoint:
...The spread of secondary and latterly of tertiary education has created a large population of people, often with well developed literary and scholarly tastes, who have been educated far beyond their capacity to undertake analytical thought.
Over the years I've heard many songs that moved me. From the 8-bit era to present day. But one song in particular holds special meaning for me. Before gaming together my wife and I lived happy lives side-by-side. We each had our hobbies and interest. They say you cannot truly understand someone until you've walked in their shoes...well I introduced my wife to PSO for the Dreamcast and she fell hard for it. Instantly understanding why I have such a passion for video games and melting away years of frustration from her. No more fights, no more questions, no more comparisons.
Then they made an announcement for PSO Ep. I&II coming to the Gamecube. My wife quickly prompted me to reserve 2 copies and buy another Gamecube. Then when we finally got the games, we booted up and enjoyed this intro. After that our lifestyles were undisputedly, intertwined as one.......
And that's the reason PSO Ep1&2's intro, to me, is the best ingame song ever created.

Diablo 1 had some incredible songs. As well as Might and Magic series.
Let's play Fallen Earth (blind, 300 episodes)
Let's play Guild Wars 2 (blind, 45 episodes)
Lineage 2 had a great soundtrack. SWG as well since it had the Star Wars songs.

link to some "epic" songs but songs that sound epic doesn't mean they are great.
Did anyone mention the music theme on Lok in SWG yet?
