random 8.9 rating within a few hours?

    What the heck happened to the ratings? Games were above 8 and SUDDENLY they are now below 7, except for Rohan.

    Seriously... WTF?

    This happens with every new release. The fanbois rush out and vote the game as high as possible. Because of the rating system, all the other games go down. Give it a few days and it will level out.

    Tried: LotR, CoH, AoC, WAR, Jumpgate Classic
    Played: SWG, Guild Wars, WoW
    Playing: Eve Online, Counter-strike
    Loved: Star Wars Galaxies
    Waiting for: Earthrise, Guild Wars 2, anything sandbox.

    Rohan is NOT new.

    Apparently the ratings are changing from second to second on many games, LOTRO and the real top8 ones are coming back up. Never knew the rating system worked like that over here.

    Oh it isn't? Hmmmph. Well, some sort of influx of votes have happened for it.

    It's not that good of a game.  Either somebody knows how to cheat the system or they paid for a temporary boost in the ratings to get their name out there.  I figure it's more that somebody knows how to cheat the ratings system.

    you know how many vote bot "fanbois" it takes to out hype star wars and aion

    i put fanbois in quotes because on this site, the amount of fanbois for this game is tiny.

    just shows how easy it is to manipulate the hype ratings

    i could understand if the game just got put here and was in beta or devolopment, let everyone check it out...but this old game...
