That'd be one heck of a day, I'm tired of the bs from both sides. They got us fighting left to right to left to right, all the while distracting us from the real issues facing the country today.

She never says that Obama is a citizen. She knows he is 100% legit, but won't say it because she knows a good percentage of people on the right who support her are these morons who believe in this conspiracy theory.
Good news is, everyone sees it, and it makes being elected as a liberal a lot easier.
It's really a continued issue with Republicans that they're going to have to learn to control.
When Rush speaks, they're slow to refute what he's saying and take damages to their image trying to spin "I hope he fails" into something good. The same goes with Dick Cheney's reemergence and all but the most reasonable Republicans losing their morality on torture. The same goes with Newt Gingrinch and him dictating that the Sotomayor nomination should be an opportunity for the Republican party to alienate yet another race even further after their RNC antics throughout the general elections. Appealing to the craziest parts of their party is no different; the secessionist teabaggers and the trouble it got Rick Perry in, or now Liz Cheney trying to spin this birther movement into something aboutnational security.
There's Olympia Snowe and there's Michele Bachmann. Unfortunately, it seems less and less Republicans care at all to stand up to their own base and would rather repeat the same mistake over and over as Liz Cheney attempted to there; gloss over the craziness and try and spin it into any amount of political capital, when all it ever does is end up damaging the party.
Honestly, the Republican Party is a joke. It used to be morbidly interesting, all the hypocrisy and complete lack of interest in any sort of facts, but now its downright sad. I've said it before, I'll never sign on to the idea of a "permanent majority", but so long as Republicans choose to only represent the crazies of their party, I'm perfectly fine with them always being the permanent minority and would have it no other way.

Something about this has been bothering me since well before the election. I could not put my finger on it until today...
I'd like to take us back to the fall of 2000. It was apparent that it was going to be a barn burner election between bush and gore...tie tie tie tie...then all the sudden we hear about documents that prove Bush got out of military service or was AWOL and got away with it.
Dan Rather was told that he would have the documents on his desk that day and so they made the executive decision to run the story...THIS was journalism damnit! "We're gonna give the American people the TRUTH!" I remember how every liberal group jumped up on their table and screamed "AHA! we got him!" ...The burden was on BUSH and his group to prove he was innocent of the allegation, remember? It wasn't until experts on typewriters came forward and proved it was a false document...completely made up lies... that the story started to lose traction. Liberals and their A-Morality didn't care that they made up shit to block Bush, what matters is that we get Gore in. That's all they cared about. Again, Bush and his party had to prove he was innocent.

Now I won't even comment on the dozens of documents that have never been provided by Obama's group. But on the issue of the birth certificate, we have a woman who WORKED for the state DURING the time this document was supposed to have been produced and she swears it's a fake. Remember it is liberals who are willing to fake a document because it serves their agenda? So we ask for the "LONG FORM"...or the proper full birth cert....Hell is freezing over to this day and no document.
You liberals like to laugh at how conservatives get all bent over something like "it was just sex" or "it's a birth certificate, get over it" but you deny the underlying truth of WHY it's important.... The rule of law. It matters because without it this nation is destroyed in less than one generation if it's not protected. The Constitution isn't some random document, it's the foundation of order and progress in this nation. You can't have a 2nd floor in a building without the 1st floor, you can't remove the constitution because it's "old" in favor of the more recent laws...all of the recent laws depend on it for security.
But here's where the kicker is.... Do you notice how the burden of proof isn't on Obama like it was Bush? Do you see the double standard? Of course you all do, but you can't admit it. This is where you rail against fox news and attack the credibility of every person that dares to call this to question. "prove it!" you all shout. hypocracy to the Nth degree.
The matter is NOT settled by far. When the truth is stonewalled, people remember.

Nope, what I brought up was the nutty sect of "birthers" on the right. Nothing about conservatives. My entire gripe with such an idiotic movement is that they're a vocal minority on the right that Republicans constantly cater to rather than the majority of more reasonable minds. Thus the whole 21% club the Republican party found itself in and their new base.
Big difference between nutty right-wingers and status quo conservatives when it comes to this. Hopefully.

Because none of those, other than the documents you claim are fakes, are required to be president of the united states. He has a right to privacy.
And does it really matter if he released them? He could release every single one of those documents tomorrow and you would claim they are all fake.
I wouldn't release the documents if I were him either. It makes the people who oppose him look like morons, which helps his cause.

Unfortunately there are friends of the family (not my personal friends) who think that Obama literally is the Antichrist; his lack of a baptism only confirms their belief that his skin is holy water soluble.
This is a sequence of characters intended to produce some profound mental effect, but it has failed.
It's just a shame that his religious preference would have any bearing on his ability to be President at all. The First Amendment says it best - "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof . . ."
But I highly doubt we will ever have an Atheist President, because all of the religious nuts in our country would go ape shit over him even running, and say he is "soul-less" and what not. It's actually pretty sad.

No one's deflecting anything, it is just very unusual to want to see someone's baptism certificate. Do you honestly care about it that much? What if it turns out that he *shock* was never baptized? (even though they say he was, sometime in the 80's I believe.)
