Even without this, you could petition support to ask them to re-activate your account so you could see if you wanted to subscribe again. They're generally happy to give you a few days to romp around the game again.

Glad to see they extended it to everyone without asking.

Yup, CCP is pretty awesome about letting formerly subscribed accounts have a few days to re-sample the game, especially after major updates, if you ask.  As long as you don't abuse it.

They can keep spamming my and my mates mails for all i care.. we wont return.

CCP decided to kill their own game.. now they should deal with their choices.

    EVE is dying! (again)

well, if death means getting consistant 48k PCU and a steadily increasing sub number, then yes, eve is dying.

With CCP's background i sincerely doubt the presented numbers.

Remember most of those are trial accounts, several are from the same players playing multiple accounts etc..

Would be interesting knowing the paying accounts online ;)

ccp statistics are that around 5% of accounts are second accounts. just from personal experience ive seen the eve population double in the last few years, as well as witnessing the PCU personally.

of course judging from your other post here and the "dont trust ccp" attitude you display, it looks like you wouldnt be interested, as you have already made up your mind and just want to complain about some percieved slight, facts are obviously not welcome.

oh, and you can tell the number of trial accounts online, or at least the upper limit to it. every character under 30 days old is in the rookie help channel, so count those people, subtract from the online users number and you have an absolute upper percentage of possible trial accounts. a more realistic figure is probably half to a third of that figure.

Wow... someone woke up on the wrong side of the universe today... also got hit with the stupid stick I see.

Just a clue:  CCP reports trial accounts SEPARATELY from subscribed accounts.  Also, less than half the playerbase has alt accounts, per CCP themselves, this has been true for a very long time.

So in answer to your question:  "Would be interesting knowing the paying accounts online ;)"

    Answer:  Over 300,000

21k people online, 2.5k in rookie channel currently... That's more than 10% trials?

Also..where did you get that 5% for alt accounts? As far as I know such statistics was never published.

In fact, I think this number is actualy indispensable because PCU does not increase as much as sub numbers.
That would mean that the sub increase is mainly due alts or the numbers are fake.

thats 10% less than 30 day old characters, not trials.

the account figures (including second account proportion) gets published around the time of the CSM elections, last year CCP were surprised that it was as low as it is.

it takes a lot of spin to claim that the subscriber base is shrinking, or only growing due to second accounts.

Regarding trial numbers, they made about 17% of all active accounts back in 2007(new data anyone?). The reason for trial account restriction followed by late new character changes, I believe.

Um...didn't find any official numbers about alt accounts, also ou are the first person I ever see claiming that those numbers exist.
