Well I was looking forward to this one. Now reading on their forums, the devs have just sold a game for the iPhone.

3D Magic is proud to announce that we published our first game. It was developed by the team of Dimension Technics.

Our first, self developed game will be released in about two weeks (depending on Apple's review system) and two others will follow this summer.

Our plan is to develop iPhone applications this year and publish at least 5-10 games until December. We hope that the earned money will help us to continue the development of our browser based RPG and that would be the next big step on the way to be able to finance Renaissance on our own.

So, if you want to support us and the development of Renaissance, buy our games for the iPhone, which cost a small amount of money ($1,99), but would help us tremendously.

You also may spread the word about them, so your friends may find them worth to try and buy.

Well gotta give em credit for trying. But I imagine when you think of a couple years before they start development, then a few more in dev. Lookin at what...6-8 years before release?  Personally I am hoping I will be nicely settled into a MMO by then...but if not...I will probibly have quit the MMO genre completely before this one comes along.

Now this was one game i was quite excited about, i heard about this game when i was actually quite new to the genre and really didnt know much about how things worked and i was quite amazed reading how the game would be, ever since then ive been following the game hoping it would come out soon. Quite sad they had to put the project on hold

I am one of the developers and yes, the game is on hold and we didn't do much since a long time.

We are working in our free time on the game engine and we try to make other, simpler projects to gather money for Renaissance, because we didn't give up yet, so you shouldn't too.

Although we were against this for a long time, now we have put a donation system online, so if you want to help us make this game possible, you can donate some money to start real development.
