 It's been fun playing this game for a couple of reasons

i) Controlling a party. I forgot what fun that could be - something you rarely experience in MMOs

ii) many paths for character development. Again, a lovely breath of fresh air after the relative train tracks most MMOs put characters on.

While not a mindblowing experience, I have been finding this to be a very solid RPG with many hours entertainment.

If you are in an MMO void right now, as I am, you could certainly do worse.

Yeah, it's not a bad RPG. A little slow from time to time and the combat takes a moment to get used too.

The massive stat and skill  options  more than make up for the combat :P.

 Do you remenber how cool was Baldurs Gate?  the city of Baldurs?  Ok?  Drakensang is not Baldurs Gate.  The city is a boringfest.  

I still have it unfinished, with a pile of other games.

I enjoyed Drakensang, but I think Dragon Age is going to be hands down the next *huge* non-MMO fantasy game.  Can't wait for it to come out.

I tried the trial and it was ok. The thing that got me is this looks like it is a very very long game. Has anyone here finished it or know how many hours it is to finish this game?

Every now and then it is on gogamer for really cheap. Once it goes down more I may pick it up.

It's rigid and old fashioned, and the the story / voiceovers didn't translate well from the native German to English. I found myself fast forwarding through cutscenes.  Other than that, though, it's a playable, decent game.

The game looks great...probably has best character graphic in rpgs in recent history. Skill and combat system is great too.

But for some untengible reason, the game is boring as hell.

Played the demo and the graphics are just great. Wished an MMORPG would have such beautiful landscapes and stuff. Well, LOTRO has also had nice landscapes when I played but, but I couldn't stand the character models.

 

I think the best traditional RPGs I played are Wizardry VIII and Lands of Lore. Might and Magic series wasn't bad either though.

I tried it, but I couldn't get the learning curve, so I stopped after like 4 hours after getting nowhere.

Its too bad.  I thought it looked like a good game.
