Has anyone played this game?  If so, can you give me a brief review of it?  Is it worth playing iyo?  I might try it if I hear some good things about it.  Anything you can tell me would be appreciated.

I highley recommend Sins if you like RTS type gameplay...

You choose one of three starting races. One is strong in military, another in tech, and another is a combo.

When you start the game you have 1 planet and the ability to build very basic ship types. You choose what upgrades are built on and around a planet, whether military, or tech., trade, cultural

You upgrade and explore then conquer, rinse/ repeat

You can win through a cultural victory, a military victory, and alliances... or a good mix of all.

you can zoom down to the smallest fighter ship out to a galaxy view in a single smooth mouswheel spin.

you can choose what targets each ship attacks or let your fleets auto-target effectively.

one of the cool things about Sins, you can micro-manage as much as you like or allow the game to effectively take up the slack.

graphics, music and gameplay are all AAA. The in-game voice overs can get annoying and repetative though.

The ui is not adjustable but you can DL mods if you like.

The expansion allows you to build starbases with unique abilities and it is well worth the purchase.

You need the Impulse software and an account to play online, I've heard people have problems with the software, I never had any issues.

It's a good game and I think I'm going to play it now lol.

I personaly find it a awesome RTS game. It's accesseble yet very deep and complex.

But it's not like arcade RTS games (C&C series, Warcraft, Starcraft).

I tend to like both, but consider SoaSE to be a more traditional RTS which to me means one can spend allot of time in it as there are so many options/feature's, compared to arcade RTS games like C&C.

Great game!  Multiplayer is a blast if you have a friend or two or three to play with you.  Games can last a while, but once they get going can be a lot of fun.

Sins of a Solar Empire, especially when you add in Entrenchment is one of the best space based rts style games I've played in a while, good cross between rts and 4x colonisation/management. Great game.

i own it but i never really got into it.  I found it a tad slow and weird to get my head around it, i guess it's not my cup of tea.  That being said it looked good, seemed to be quite logical and combat was nice.

    MMO wish list:

    -Changeable worlds
    -Solid non level based game
-Sharks with lasers attached to their heads

First you have to understand that Sins is NOT an RTS in the traditional sense. Rather it is hybrid RTS and X4 for play style. Many RTS players find X4 play to slow and so will find Sins not quite to their liking. Many X4 players hate the pace of the RTS and as well will not enjoy Sins.

The ONLY complaint I have with Sins is the complete lack of a campaign sytle play to let you dive into the story line. This is however a great game.
