Aion or Champions Online

Read some of the reveiws of the Beta's of each game and still can't decide.  Just asking for some help in making my choice.  I'm more of a causual gamer that likes pvp and pve don't mind getting ganked its all part of the game but would like more info on both games if anyone can help out.

If you are more casual go with CO. I like Aion but it requires some dedication and time. Not that Champions does not but much less so than Aion.

Outside of that they are radically different games but I like both of them.

Yeah definitely different tastes. I've been playing both betas and prefer Aion. I also have a thing against certain types of business models so that was a big push to Aion.

Other than that there were some controls and lack of details in powers in CO that I didn't like. I couldn't find much to complain about in Aion, so it worked out nice for me.

    Good luck on your choice!

I will agree with what doug said... CO is definately more casual. While Aion is going to require more time... But will offer better RVR/PVP than what champions will.. At least in the beginning. Both games though hold alot of promise. Another choice is to maybe hold off and wait for DC is your wanting a superhero game that will have PVP in it from the beginning.

Isn't CO FilePlanet Beta open for even non-subscribers now? That should be able to give you a feel on the game.

Aion Open Beta is coming soon too, I don't know any details on how "open" it will be though.

The best thing is to decide for yourself, but I believe you won't be able to get the open PvP feeling you seek in CO while Aion may not be very "casual" if you wish to be on the top and just look forward logging, having fun, logging out - shouldn't be an issue though if you don't care about that e-peen thing that requires you to play 24/7 to achieve. Will be even better if you find a casual legion with peak times equal to your play times.

About quests, don't fool yourself, both offer you Kill X or Collect Y quests in their essence, dunno if CO also sugarcoats the grinding with crafting, PvP-related (infiltrating enemy lands with an objective), multiple-choice and a main storyline "campaign" questline with cutscenes though.

I'm more excited about Aion since CO just looks like a reiteration of CoH/CoV...

Which do you prefer, apples or oranges and why do you prefer them?

Same thing here really, the game you play depends really on what sort of game play you prefer.

Aion will have more PVP in it at launch, and while Aion has good character customization, CO's is better so that might be a factor in your decision.  Do you like high fantasy settings, or men in tights?

    The choice is yours.
