eq2 not really a sequel but something along the line of what wow did for cataclysm might be a nice idea for this game they fixed graphic issue ,so having something bad happen to that world would bring old and new player or even just a new publicity campaign .wow lost a lot of player in the past but there new player now etc
(pre-cu style with updated graphics, more questing, better solution to jedi, more content, space from the beginning, more variety in skills, less bugs, much more civil war, better class balance)
another deus ex and system shock game would be awesome. a theme hospital 2 could be quite fun and a new transport tycoon mmo wise i agree with a lot of people that a DAOC2 and SWG2 would be great, and of course ultima online 2.
A sequel to deus ex is being made O.o ... I dont know if we are mentioning games that already have sequels being made but anyway... just thought I'd mention in case its gone under your radar.
However, the way they make MMOs, or have been for the last number of years, it would probably be nothing like the original, and be somewhat of a dissapointment for me.
Bioshock was from the begining system shock 3. I would like to see Auto Assault back in business and i would also like to see a sequel to Anarchy Online, those games have the potential to actually do something new atm. Because every MMORPG today follow in WoW:s footsteps and that is getting kinda booring.
Hrmm I forgot one, Solar Realms / Barren Realms back during BBS days. I want to play them, but not on BBS lol. Someone needs to make sequels of these great BBS games and put them online so you can play it using a browser or something.

Asheron's Call had a sequel lol, it just sucked. The Movies was basically a sequel to Microsoft 3D movie maker, but was more limited than the original. I'd like to see a new : Dungeon Keeper (3) Populus Magic Carpet
Can't really think of any games I want that need a sequel, most of the games I have i mind already have them in the works. thief4, Assassins Creed 2, and Dead Rising 2 being the my most anticipated.
Anyways this is not really sequel more of a remake.
Castlevania: SOTN, was by far one of the best sidescrollers I have ever played. If they would just enhance the detail add some new content and keep it a sidescroller. I would certainly buy it.
With regards to MMO's i'd like to say SWG for a start but it won't happen and i'm looking forward to SW:ToR (and praying for it)
For offline RPG games
i'd like to see another Gothic title, updated and with a better control method.
I'd love to see Elite 4 done, heard it's on hold for the time being but at least the original creator is back on board for it.
i know Bioware are doing SW:ToR and they say that by doing it as an MMO they can make as many KotoR releases as they want in the form of expansions but i'd like to see an OFFLINE RPG sequel for it as well and i'm sure others would too considering it's fan base.
can't think of any others right now but i know there are more i'd like to see done.
After reading these - I woould like a MMO called Elder Scrolls the world - everything I said about MMO's in that world - with all the ES lore. Don't need 1 story - each area could have it's own things going on, and from Oblivion there are enough dungeons to keep people happy. Also roaming monsters of every level - have things like wandering Giants that would take a group of people to take down and those players nearby would be forced to group to fight it - or to flee if that is their thing. With a very large world solo players could go from farm to farm or village to village killing varmints and such... oppurtunities would be endless.

PC/MMO:
A true sequel to AC1, not that AC2 crap.
Console/single player:
I've always wanted a sequel to the PS1 game Project Overkill, man I loved that game.
Honorable mention:
UO of course
Diablo 3 which is on it's way
Einherjar_LC says: WTB the true successor to UO or Asheron's Call pst!
Amen Brother!
The easy answer for me is UO.
However, the way they make MMOs, or have been for the last number of years, it would probably be nothing like the original, and be somewhat of a dissapointment for me.
DAOC 2 €Q3 and i would never leave the house
