Open beta - Sept 6th - 13th
Pre-start - Sept 18th
Head start - Sept 20th
Launch - Sept 22nd

Yeah, just saw this on aionsource. I'l change and bump my thread when Ayase confirms the dates.
Seems odd that it would start on a Sunday i'll wait for an actual confirmation on their site or on Tweet before I believe it.
Yeah all I am seeing are press releases everywhere so far.
But these were the expected dates I suppose.

So odd launching an OB on a sunday really makes no sense considering the amount of work involved on the launch day of an OB.
It's not that uncommon in the USA. I often work 7 bloody days a week. The office is open 6, and i'm on call 24/7 (if someone goes in sunday to "catch up" and something is wrong, they call me). If you want decent pay, you have to take these kinds of jobs.
I'm sure the dev team will be doing prep Saturday, as well as watching the launch on Sunday.

"Aion's Open Beta, Pre-Select and Headstart Programs

Within the next four weeks, we will treat European and North American gamers to two opportunities to jump into the world of Aion and explore Atreia as Asmodian or Elyos characters ahead of its release in Europe on 25nd September and North America 22th September. Aion's Open Beta Test featuring version 1.5 will take place 6-13th September and will include numerous Western enhancements, including improvements to Aion's innovative character customization with a host of Western styles, as well as new zones, instances, skills, quests and continued game balancing and improvements. Open Beta will retain a level cap for both Elyos and Asmodians characters at 30 allowing players to focus on getting to the same level so they can explore the lands of Atreia together, as well as the Abyss.
Players who have pre-ordered Aion will be treated to a Pre-Select and a two-day Headstart period giving them the opportunity to explore, organize and progress through the game prior to the official launch. Pre-Select will take place on 18th September, while Aion's Headstart will begin 20th September. Players can still participate in the Aion's Pre-Select and Headstart programs by pre-ordering the game through several participating online and brick-and-mortar retailers."

Yeah, because we will need to download around 2 GB of patches from 1.0 to 1.5, hopefully we will witness their new P2P download system.

I'm bored already, what's the next game coming out?
I'm actually very glad with all this news. Specific questions for the very intelligent few... What is requirement for the OB access? I've not found much pertaining to that, although I have just started looking. Also, oddly enough NCsoft doesn't list American retailers with the capability of preordering. I assume global stores such as EBgames and GameStop should have it, along with the PS/HS availibilty. Assuming the PS/HS is activated from codes like some other mmos.
~I resolved my idea of the PS/HS. Still wondering how OB is availible and when we can sign up for it.
