I wanted to try the trial, updater keeps crapping out.

So I got a 7 day trial, and was trying to get the thing patched. Since I started from scatch, I had 11.2 GB or so to patch, that's fine, problem is, I get to between 200-500 MB and the patcher stops responding, I restarted several times then gave up. The speed goes from a few KB/s to a couple hundred, but I won't spend days trying to patch at this rate, I would if it worked, but I can't get it started and leave it, since after a short time it just dies.

Is there a torrent or some other way to get the client? The official patcher is broken for me, even with firewall disabled.

I had that problem when I started playing, and just got a better signal, and it went stable @ 700 kb/s the rest of the way.
