I decided to play aion and I'm waiting for friday to create character and be ready. Since nothing to play atm I was thinking about aion and i came up with an idea, here it is: Aions main feature and what everyone brags about is pvp in abyss and after few months when all 50 and in abyss what will happen? Usually in previous games there were 3-4k people playing at a time if 2k are in 1 zone like abyss isnt that going to lag the shit out of everyone? From experience any town in any game that gathers like 50-100 people gets laggy like hell, so 2k+ people will actually make it unplayable. I thought maybe they have a cap like no more then 50 people can enter abyss and the rest join abyss but in different channel, that will be an issue too legions will not be with their members cause the cap was maxed.
Thats it I want to see if anyone has more info on this issue, reason I thought this is cause everyone says they will play aion so they can pvp in abyss and abyss is only one is not like there are 20 different abyss zones.

They've worked really hard on stability issues. Honestly, I think there will be at least 400 people in the abyss zone at one time. But there are three abyss zones, moreover, they said that in a few interviews it is 200 vs 200 all out, so we're gonna have to deal with the lagg issues. But, from the China retail, I didn't have any problems with 400 ppl were on my screen.
Just make sure not to run an integrated graphics card nor a dialup internet connection and you're fine. If I can get stability from China, we can get stability from the United States.
I dont know what you think abyss is. Abyss is not some zone like in other mmo's, Abyss is like a gigantic area, it's huge in size with 3 separate big areas each one with several diferent fortresses to capture and objectives. It's not a simgle area where every player will be.
Imagine a continent in other games, fully open, fully flyable. Players will not all be on the same area
Tryklon dont get mad dude I started this post to get some info on end game and I appriciate your info about being big and divided in 3 parts. Is it divided for levels like 25-30 30-40 40-50 or not?

Lol, sry it it seemed i was in some way mad by your question, i was not, it was just a matter of speaking.
No, it isnt divided for all that i know by levels, you do enter there at lvl 25 and i think the opposite faction is placed in the same area on an opposite fortress when they teleport to the abyss, but apart from that all the abyss is a big wide open area so anyone can go anywhere in any level. I think the abyss is targeted at the high level population, since the lower levels can easily be killed.
Either way its a guess since you cant see the oponnents level and so you have to guess by its gear, although there are people that try to "fool" the others into thinking they are lower level than they actually are =P
I will go there at 50 then I wont like getting 1shoted by lv50s when im lv25.
I hear ya, I probably won't enter the abyss until Mid 30s to do some quests, but otherwise, probably late 40s and early 50s. I remember going into the Abyss as a level 25 and got 1 shotted all the time.
Game is pretty stable from what I've seen. Unlike WAR where soon as 20 people are on the screen you might as well log off.
Yeah, I had the top of the line graphics card and still had some serious lagg.
Same here I have gaming built pc and really good internet connection, but war was lagging and was the one game I quit on 2nd day even tho I felt bad spending $50 on box but oh well I bought lotro CE and played only 2 weeks lol and that was like $75 plus I signed for 3 months and still quit.

I wasted a truck load of cash on Warhammer. Spent 150 dollars buying 3 copies, 1 for myself and two for friends. I admit, that my performance was much better than my friend's PC, so a top end graphics card definitely pays off. However, why do you need such a high end machine to play such crappy graphics?
Aion, on the other hand I played it on a crappy PC and my high end PC, the only different is antialasing, can only run that smoothly at 8X AA in a crowded area on my top end PC.
From what I understand, a pack of 25s can stand up to one or two higher level PCs of the opposite faction, so there is a good option for lower level folks who want to try out PvP. Also, there's a revival stone called a "kisk" that you can hide in a secure nearby space and you'll revive in a safe hidden spot if you get zerged. And you will. It's just part of the PvP and the learning curve. But unless they find your kisk, they can't camp you (and if they find your kisk, they'll just destroy it and you'll rez back in a safe area in a town).
Haven't gotten there yet, so someone correct me if I'm off base!

Only difference is AA? Hmm, define this crappy PC. I have a decent PC..I mean..duo e8500, 4G RAM, SLI 9800GTX and I more or less play the game flawless. I mean ill bog down a little bit in the capitol or whatver you want to call it (Pand/Sanct) and ill jerk a little when first entering like Altgard while it renders but after thats out of the way it's pretty much fine. I don't even know how well the AA affects the game cause I've pumped it all the way up and all hte way down and I swear it looks the same. I do play on max 1650x1050 or whatever it is (high resolution). I think the minor bogging/jerking I'll get has more to do with Vista then anything to be honest. I'm hoping 7 will clear everyting up.

Well the crappy PC cannot play Aion smoothly at 8XAA, only my high end PC and your PC can definitely play Aion MAX out at 8XAA.
AA corrects all of the jagged lines, it isn't much noticable unless you're in the higher resolutions, definitely 1300 X 768 an up.
