I got to admit...I didn't reach level 60 before the first expantion came out...but since then I have reached level 70 several times and level 80 a few times... Since then I've started a few more characters...and everytime it get's so much easier to level! Since Wrath, I can start a toon and reach lvl 20 in my sleep...(taking a break for an occasional smoke... if I did smoke!...)

You level faster and faster simply because you've done it so many times you don't waste time wandering what to do or where to go. It's the case in every mmorpg. When I created my first char in WoW years ago, it took me 6 months to get to lvl 60...but I wasn't playing hours a day either. I still dont understand how people who claim to be able to max a char to lvl 80 in 3 days do it. I quit WoW a while back out of boredom. I enjoyed the game for a while and am not knocking it in any way. I don't get why so many people hate WoW. If you don't like it, don't play it. Why it causes such rabid, frothing at the mouth hate by some bewilders me. You make what you want out of the game. I had 2 lvl 80 chars and a lvl 70 and several lowbie chars when the game became mind numbingly boring for me. But I played the game off and on for a few years, so I can't complain just because I'm burned out on it. It kept my attention longer then most games.
I now have 4 level 80s despite quitting the game for a couple months each year. Though I refuse to raid so in the maybe 6-10 hours I get a week i just do quests and wintergrasp. I do some 5 mans or heroics if the groups are around.
it makes me sad to level in wow now because of all the memories. I miss the original game.
Level 1-60 in WOW is atricious. Its an abomination. Its actually quite hard, because you have to somehow stay motivated to keep logging in. 60-80, now that is awesome. Too bad I couldn't get past the 1-60 part or I would still be playing.
I expected someone to argue with me but all 3 of u...Otter, Karat and Templarga made alot of sense... True it got easier for me through repition...What I lost was being around cool ppl...I was in a very good guild in Trollbane and since then the social experience has gone downhill quickly.
who doesnt miss the comedy that was barrens chat!
I am pretty sure they increased the XP 1-60 simply to get people to end game quicker. I don't have a link, though I believe it is something like 50% quicker now than it was pre BC. That's not to say that repitition isn't a factor, just not the only one.
What mmorpg keeps u motivated Brostyn?
wild stab in the dark - - Alliance characters
they had the same pleasure since they were the whole reason barrens chat was humorous
I had a freind refer me to playing WoW. So then when we group we would both get triple exp or something like that....Still took me well over 2 months to reach level 70. Thats only because I played 2-3 hours everyday. But boy when I played by myself (cuz no one out there wants to group up and my friend wasnt online) It sure as hell felt slow. I did enjoy playing in the classic zones though. brought back some good old memories back in the day. And I guess I wanna keep it that way. WoW isnt a game for me anymore.
They lowered the XP total a lot, increased XP rewards from quests, and if you so wanted, give you triple XP from 1-60 through recruit a friend, which you can hit 60 in a few days, easily less than 1 day /played.
you can get to 80 in a couple weeks with some hardcore leveling
Crossroads is under attack! Crossroads is under attack! (What levels?) (How many?) (Any level 70's?) (Where are the harpies?) (Where is Wailing caverns?) (Goldroad is under attack!)...yadda yadda yadda....I don't miss it..
Ok, I really have to ask, what in the world(of warcraft) did you find "fun and interesting" about having to do 500000000 "Kill X of Y" quests? WoW's end game was somewhat entertaining, if not simply for it's addictive nature, but it's leveling was akin to chewing broken glass.
Tried: LotR, CoH, AoC, WAR, Jumpgate Classic
Played: SWG, Guild Wars, WoW
Playing: Eve Online, Counter-strike
Loved: Star Wars Galaxies
Waiting for: Earthrise, Guild Wars 2, anything sandbox.

lol that wasnt the best of times your quoting there, you gave it away with the line, Any level 70's! You mean level 60's because that was the barrens chat that was so well known lol

End Game was entertaining? Repeating daily quests every day for months? or was the it the raiding every chance a timer was up just to not see any drops that you wanted or seeing them and losing the rolls lol ooooh or was it the pugs that cant seem to complete dungeons designed for easy spank and tank?
U got to remember Shayne that I really started getting going on the game just before the first expansion... So level 70's were just coming into rule with my low level toons at the time...(Obviously I always played Horde...why would anyone play alliance???)
I ask ppl such as Abraham...what game are u playing that makes our games suck in comparison??? I want to know because I want to play that game!!!
Name a game with fun end play then....
my first char was alliance and I vowed never to repeat that mistake.... horde was damaged greatly by the addition of the blood elves... ahhhh the days of level 60 were grand indeed heh
U got to remember I was at the buttend of the 60's my friend.
There isn't one Horusra...
I agree with OP. When I first started playing at launch it took my 30 playing days to level to 60, then my second toon was 17 days to 60. my latest (a 80 warlock) took me 7 playing days from 1-80. You also have to keep in mind that with the expansions and patches the amount of exp it takes to level has been reduced and also the amount of exp you gain from quests and mobs have been adjusted too.
