Botting - is it the new black?

thafireballthafireball Member Posts: 200

Please give me your opinion on botting...

I bot because I have too much to do IRL and want to play at 50.  I don't have the time to grind out all those levels and if i DID do it it would take me well over a year to reach 50...I am not paying $15.00/month +$50.00 initial fee to not get to be at end game for a whole year.  I want to enjoy the "fun" stuff asap.  Thanks for playing and I hope to get some unusual answers here!

    I used to bot in other games.  I stoped botting because after banned a few times I just felt it's not worth the risk.

    Cheap excuses. If you're resorting to botting, aka cheating, in order to have fun, there is something wrong with you. I don't say there is something wrong with the game, because the problem is obviously your obsession over playing something that you clearly not enjoying.

    Besides, the "end game" fallacy is just that. If you are not having fun during the progress, you won't have fun in the end game. Or are you going to tell me that you'll stop botting once you reach the max level?

    Just pick another game that you enjoy better and please let go of the cheap excuses about a life and a job and all that. You're not the only one with a life and a job. You're however the one that chose to play a game that doesn't really enjoy without resorting to cheats.

    Dunno why you made this in aion section since every game has problems with botters but anyways no I will never use a bot to level what's the fun in that? your wasting money and time if you get caught and banned.

    If you don't have time play a F2P or a single player if you think $12/month is much when you have other stuff to do.

    So, OP, you want to enjoy the fun stuff ASAP.  Let's check and see how that turned out, shall we?  The only MMORPG that I can think of off the top of my head that had now "grind" to level up with was a game called Fury.  It released last year.  It didn't last long.  Long story short, games without "the grind" don't tend to make very good MMOGs.

    Fear not fanbois, we are not trolls, let's take off your tin foil hat and learn what VAPORWARE is:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vaporware

    "Vaporware is a term used to describe a software or hardware product that is announced by a developer well in advance of release, but which then fails to emerge after having well exceeded the period of development time that was initially claimed or would normally be expected for the development cycle of a similar product."

    @Zorndorf

    Botting is a universal issue. Don't even try to make it a Aion issue, no game is impervious of botting or botters.

    I just found the OP excuses both hilarious and sad.

    Having said the above, NCsoft does not have a good reputation regarding botting, due to Lineage 2 situation. Of course, in Lineage 2 botters had access to the source code of the game, making it easier to make their bots untraceable. Still, in the case of Aion, NCsoft needs to put twice the effort some other company would put, just to battle the bad reputation of the past. So far they've been very fast resolving issues (almost all major issues resolved before the first month is even over), so it's natural to be optimistic about the continuation of those efforts in the future.
