Seems like the free 10 day trial will become unlimited so you'll be able to play in T1 for as long as you like for free, to me that means theres a high chance that this game will become F2P soon.

I wonder what they would put in the cash shop to buy?
I happen to be playing a trial now, actually. I thought I would check out what changes I could. One of the Empire T1 PQs had a map tooltip of 108 players present. Counting me, there were two.

T1 is all the zones for levels 1-11 places like Nordland.
WAR T1 and T2 is pretty freaking awesome. The reason the game sucks is T3 and 4.
If I were Mythic/EA I would give T1, T2 as F2p Have ADs during loading screens and Things like Renown buff items on cash shop to pay for the servers along with the subs from 70k-150k paying to play T3-T4 (god rest their souls).
That would be golden imo.

War being a PvP game... i just don't see it working at all with a F2P system. It was based on the P2P model little to long now. Plus it mean's more time and money spent on something... that will either work or blow up in their face. They would really have to be carefull about how they went about setting up a item mall. Cause it could easily turn into people paying more then what they did when it was a P2P game, and could easily make thing's even more unbalanced. This game already suffer's alot to unbalances in it... either it being job or population. Also they will end up losing alot of their current subscriber's in the process, cause the general western attitude toward's F2P being uttered in the same breathe w/ a game like War is not great.
Making it possible to further ruin the structure of this game... is not a chance i see Mythic taking. But it wouldn't surprise me if they did though, cause it is Mythic after all. I don't think they'll be happy until till this game is deader then dead.
Well, I'd play WAR if it were f2p. Definitely. For me it's good enough to play. Just not awesome enough to pay monthly fees.

I can see some vets who were just rerolling t1-t2 just settling for a perma trial now in the short term.
Long term the lively lower tier will probably get them some subs, although I wonder for how long. If people are enticed by an active T1 and then sub and wander into an almost empty T2/3 (in comparison to T1) they may not even last a month.
That's where I am at now, was given the game a few months back along with a 30 day time card. I must say I was having fun until now, through t1 and t2 it was lively and a bunch of action. Now that I've stepped into t3 it's completely died off. Anyone know if t4 is worth reaching on badlands? I see dest taking our city everyday, and when the sc pops for altdorf it's usually packed even in t3. However nothing else ever pops at this lvl and open rvr is rare.

This effect feeds on itself. People reroll at T3 because of lack of population, which causes even fewer people in T3. If there was small-scale RvR content in the higher tiers, more people would stay there. You can take a BO solo in T1 if you are the right class. Not possible in T2 or higher. Put up banners in the RvR zones that can be pulled by a solo player of either side.

Does anyone know when the unlimited free trial starts?
I have played WAR last month while waiting for Dragon age. I love tier 1 and tier 2 gameplay. BUt since I rolled on severs where the other faction is dominating tier 3 - then I simply stop at lvl 21-22 and roll another class. Its really boring to play entire nights - beeing rolled over - getting absolutly nothing instead. Thats why the underdog system needs to work in EVERY tier - not just endgame.
I will defently just play free trials from now on - Getting to lvl 10 and getting the best gear makes you pretty much play like a FPS and there will be alot of nubs around to kill... well at least some
Long term value of WAR is none. Thats just a fact atm since they can't balance their game properly based on number of ppl taking part in the RVR tiers.
Login caps by tier would fix it, but they either don't have the will or the talent to put them in. I'd guess the latter, seeing the slack coding evident in most other aspects of the game.
I agree that end game MUST be fixed (including balance) for the game to survive.
This trial has shown me that the magic even of Tier one is wearing off for me. Still, the players can't figure out something as simple as how to play the scenarios to win, and I am just sick of dropping alts once they hit T2.

Personally i really don't see why unlimited free trials at lower levels means going F2P soon.
Many times a trial is too short, you dont have enough time to try out the all the class and see which suit you best. And you dont have time to truly take a good look at the gameplay of the game.
So i think its a good move for Mythic, letting players take their time to try it out, experience, and thereby once they find the fun in the class that they want, may pay for it to proceed further...

I disagree with the topic, and I think that there should be more free trials around to let people try their games before buying.
I mean, I might like the game and decide to actually pay for it, so that I can play it forever and ever!
Or, I might get into it and realise that it's one of those terrible click-to-move games that I hate the feeling of so much, a la Bright Shadow.
I am playing EVE and it's alright... level V skills are a bit much.

Let the people play for free at really good T1 and T2 zones, then, theyll pay for higher tiers, and then?
Month is payed, who cares, theyre not happy in dead T3 and T4...
When does this new free trial program start? I can only find the 10-day one.

This is probably the best PR Mythic could have done on this. If you aren't a noob to mmo's you'll easily see through this.
-Most MMO that do the same thing do it generally when they have nothing to lose.
-T1 is sadly not representative of the game
-Prolly the best way to clean up the game forums and get the new players to share positive experience
-This is a way to get the server loads up
-At this point in time nothing good can come out of this
Considering this game is outsourced to korea, and there have been many talks about going F2P over there, it wouldn't surprised me if Mythic/EA is using the US/EU version to beta test the whole thing.

Seriously, why don't they bring up a server where gankers can go "all in" on all the newbies?
I know that alot of folks hates gankers and greifers and such but... comón, ONE server!! As it is now there's really no point in goin for the gear in T3 and T4, there's no one around to fight against anyway. In WoW for example, you could reach level cap, get a little geared and then fly down to Stranglehorn vale and begin your gank tour.
Getting ganked by a higher leveled and geared players would make you more interested in getting up higher in level yourself, just to be able to have your revenge.
Note1: I'm not a speaker for gankers. WoW is an excellent game when it comes to it because there are servers for those who likes ganking AND there are servers for those who doesn't!
Note2: WoW is just an example I'm using so there's no need for "go back to wow" answers.
This is good news for me. Tier 1 has my favourite scenarios - Gates of Ekrund, Nordenwatch and Khaine's Embrace, and while there aren't any keeps, I like the RvR lakes there as well... and well just in general tier 1 is just really fun and good compared to tier 3-4, and when I frequently feel an itch to play WAR again it's tier 1 I'm thinking of in particular. With tier 1 being free and I can just log in whenever and knock some people around without having to keep a sub going
Problem is, how long you think T1 gona hold your interest? Keep re-rolling ain't the way, sooner or later you gona get bored and either you re-sub to go further or quit.
So if this still cant get the subs up for this game, than i believe this is the last chance that EA will give before shutting it down for good...

It doesn't matter how long it holds my interest. I can log out if I'm not interested and log back in when I am. I don't have to worry about quitting since there's no subscription involved.
