Shooting someone is an incarnation of violence. Violence is a global issue, not limited to "yanks". In the UK there is a very serious problem with people using broken beer bottles to carve others up like Christmas hams at their pubs. Oh, and there are gun related crimes there too.



Correct me if I'm wrong, but even though Florida is a blue state and was never considered the Deep South or the Real South, the appropriate slang for a Floridian is Dixie. A Yank is what you'd call someone from the northern states, above the Mason-Dixie line...

Whoever told you their was a very serious glassing problem in the UK is bullshitting you. I can't think of the last time i heard of anyone getting glassed in any pub.If you think that gun crime in the UK is anything like in the US you are deluding yourself.I could go to places in main land europe and find much more gun crime than the UK.

The people who told me were the people who would know- people who live in the UK and frequent pubs. Not only do I talk to them but their families and their families friends, so it's a generally known problem. Hell a Harry Potter actor got murdered by a gang in or near a pub, and I think that incident did involve a gun, but not certain now.  My main point in my previous reply was that murder happens anywhere, and is not isolated to the US, all you are getting uppity about is the particular weapon of choice in a region.



P.S- I said that the UK does have gun crime. I didn't say it was in equal proportion. But if you want to get into fine details... the people who use guns to commit crimes over there are the same as here: International gangs and the mafia.

 I've never heard of any Gun crime in the UK unless it's between gangs and tbh whocares if they die?

Guns should just be banned in America unless you have a license like in the UK where you have an inspector who comes to visit to make sure they're locked up properly and you can prove you're using it for sport like clay pigeon shooting.

Varny, I agree it should be harder to get guns here and don't like the bazaars where anyone can pick them up. However, making it a nuisance, a taxable thing, etc punishes the people who are NEVER going to use them for malevolent purposes in the first place. People who use them for malevolent purposes get them, period, by the easiest path possible which is usually criminal even in the states (robbing SWAT vehicles, military cargo).



Also, if nothing else, women and the disabled should have them for personal defense for obvious reasons. I care if the organized crime guys have guns because they make their living by abducting, black mail, and robbery of the innocent. You better believe that crap happens, and that much of it doesn't make it to the MSM for various reasons... like the victim being killed somewhere else or terrified.

Thing is just cut off the access to guns.



Police shouldn't have guns, ours don't and they're fine and then noone can steal guns from them. Then anyone who gets caught walking around with a gun or has one laying about in their home should get prison time or a heavy fine and their guns taken away. Then you stop all the sales of ammo and guns in any old shop and have the sales in more government controlled shops where you need a valid license to have one. If you've had any history of crime or gun crime then you wont be allowed to have one until the government feels you're fit to own one and you have a reason like hunting or sport. 

No normal person should have guns, theres no need and the police shouldn't need them because it causes more problems. Just stop the sales of guns and make a ban of them and get them out of the country. My parents had shotguns for Sport as I was growing up because they did clay pigeon shooting but they had to go through a lot of effort for a license and a guy comes round once in awhile to inspect them. If they arn't locked up in a metal locker type thing then they wont be able to own guns again.



If you're disabled you shouldn't have guns to protect you : Just have free Health care like we have here where someone will look after you and make sure you're ok.
