A lot of people have been following the development of this game, and many are disappointed by the lack of player crews. So I started a thread about maybe trying SQO.
I don't see these games as being mutually exclusive. They're going to be Apples and Volkswagens, obviously. I'm surprised no one from the SQO community has said anything over there yet.
SQO is a labor of love, and I'm not sure it will ever be big, but to quote the Alexander Keith's commercial,"Those who like it, like it a lot". So go talk about it.
Put on your dress uniforms. Bring a fruit basket. Or a kelp basket maybe for you Celay. Go say hello.
Talk about your ingame experiences. What you like about SQO. What you don't like. Where you want it to go.
Cryptic has money for advertising, you have word-of-mouth. Go talk about your game.

Does this game have RMT?
Nope there's no real money trading in SQO.
On topic: Way to go I've seen the thread and I'll keep an eye on it and see if I can pitch in
I was looking at the controls and I didn't see any w,a,s,d, any where . is a click to fly like EVE?
3rd person isometric view. Tthere are different console stations to use different ship functions, so you'll have to move from one to another to do stuff, for example Helm controls ship movement and Tactical weapons. I beleive there is joystick support. It is important to remember you play as a character IN a ship, not a ship as your "character".

Well I tryed it out and I must say the movement stinks . click to move on the ground. you cant zoom out at all it seems unless im missing some thing.
Also tried (trying) the game out.
Im use to the graphics/movement etc. etc. , the games movement/pace reminds me of helbreath,
what i am not liking is the ghost town like atmosphere of the game,
i can understand if everyone else is outerspace, or on other ships.
but the empty chat rooms when asking questions (or help for that matter) is troubling to look at , especially for this kind of game.
who ever said that this is a game you shouldnt solo told the cold hard truth.
will play a bit more tomorrow to see if theirs any change to my time with this game. such as figuring out how to get the heck out of the shuttle pod ship to planet avalon)
edit:
the most amazing thing just happened to me, i stayed in the shuttle pod way too long and started to begin getting Space dementia (got bored) and started clicking on random buttons..
turns out i went hostile and started fighting myself, beating, kicking and punching myself out of conciousness.
no lie, i kicked my own a@@ by myself in a shuttle pod.... yep i dont know what the hell im doin..
Page Up/Page Down buttons are your zoom.
If you go to Options->Customize Controls it will give you a list of what everything does.
@Beanpuie. Make sure you use the forums and galactopedia. Search for "tutorials" in the galactopedia and there will be a long list.
Its highly recommended to start as a Fleet character so you can go through the in-game tutorial.
But if you're having fun in that shuttle pod noone is forcing you
Im gonna start over with my character, i feel like i have done so many things wrong,
gonna see to start off as a fleet character, and find some sort of spaceship called the York town
if anything that'll be my first personal mission.
Thats true with any game.
