Do anchor links work?

In the corner of this post there's a #1, which is a link.   Are these supposed to be anchor links?

This should link to post #91 in the thread "How could anyone choose...", but it doesn't for me.  (instead it takes me to the top of the page with post #91.)

I'm using IE, and the only custom setting I use in these forums is displaying twice the normal number of posts per thread (so post #91 is on page 5 for me.)
