FYI - Blizzard sending out 7 day pass "return to wow" emails to "select" players.

Just incase some of you old wow players find an email in ya inbox over the next week about 7days free... its real.

    what's the point of this thread? And I agree saying you played for 10 minutes means you didnt like it.

     

     

    But if I want to reactivate an account without buying it right away do I just need to wait for my email, or can i get it somehow

    My wife stopped playing WoW about two months ago and I just told her about this seven day thing.

    She got the 7 day gametime email but when she goes to activate it on the battle.net site it gives here a 404 error.

    Did she ever merge her account to a Battle net Account? If not,she probably needs to do that before she can use the 7 day deal.

    WoW now requires a Battlenet account.

    Yes she did but on the battlenet page she cannot click the activate 7 day pass button. it keeps going to a 404 error.

    1. I don't understand what's so special? A stand-alone trial is 14 days, RaF is a month, scroll of resurrection... what is this? 7 days of free time on a preexisting account with no level limit? Meh. The game has so many 'come back and play' options, this really isn't newsworthy.

    2. I elected for Blizzard to stop sending me any and all emails from any of their listserv's. Sadly, they didn't get the memo and still sent this. Am I wrong to feel like I'm not a cherished [past] customer? I've given post-Activision Blizzard well in excess of 700 bucks, and they can't honor a simple 'do not contact me again' clause? It's sad.

    That is exactly right, and we're not saying NO to save WoW, because it is already a lost cause. We are saying NO to dissuade the next group of greedy suits who decide to emulate Blizzard and Cryptic, etc.
    We can prevent some of the future games from spewing this crap, but the sooner we start saying no, the better the results will be.

    To some of the posters..... I posted this so people who get the email don't just think its the usual WoW email scam and delete it.

    Trial is just that a trial from lvl 1, RaF allows 1 part of get a free month but they must "refer a friend" anmd that friend must sub for atleast a month, SoR will get you 10days freeplay on an inactive account that is 90 days old but some one must give you a scroll. 7 free days a short promotion where blizzard are giving random inactive accounts 7 days free via email.  They are all different promotions and news worthy as some might think its a scam.

    You should change your contact settings on bnet, or just close ya account down...its really easy.

    Seems battlenet was down late last night when my wife tried. She just tried again and it worked.

    Great..... Now I get to listen to her almost 100% female guild on vent.

    And to be completely fair, he didn't ask to be insulted by this guy either. Coffee is a regular in posting useful information about WoW on this site (thank you Coffee for the heads up again, much appreciated). Too bad not everyone that supports WoW can be as nice.

     I got this email and thought it was a key logger scam heh... On the battlenet page it said WoW account which i thought was suspicious.

    The email just sends me to my battle.net login, but I'm not getting any free gametime.  The implication seems to be that you need to pay to reactivate for a month in order to get the seven free days?  Not sure that's worth a whelpling to me, as I don't actually plan on returning to play the game again until the next expansion.

    Strange, i log in last night after i receive this email and no problem. I can also claim both the penguin and dragon pet...
