1. Clearly you didn't play SWG before the NGE, because there's just no debate that it was an MMO in its most genuine sense. Other people were vital to your own success. This isn't arguable. 2. WoW is mostly single player until you reach max level, then grouping is more or less necessary to continue with the game's content. 3. You're reading what you want to read and then ignoring everything else. All you're proving is that you're a vapid fanboy whose logic is going to make me a lot of money in the initial days of TOR's release.
You know what my logic is? You and tons of people like you are going to buy this game and make me a mint. Enjoy your purchase, because I certainly will!
1.) SWG was and is still 100% solo friendly. Other people were only vital because there was no content to SWG, all there was to do was PvP or converse.
How do you quantify success? Is my vision of success different then yours? I could sit around and just like building my house, or just trying to pvp and kill people on my own. I didn't need anyone to fight with me or help me do things, I didn't need to interact or coordinate with others. You can't measure my version of success in a game or yours when success is measured in what you call a sandbox. The very definition of sandbox means I choose what I want to do, and by that very right and meaning of the word, I don't have to group so your logic is still flawed.
So wow is 'mostly' single player then its a mmo? So if Tor didn't need people to end game then you needed others to raid/pvp in end game, then wait...Tor is technically an mmo because end game you need people? Wait..wait..again we fall back into its one or the other, it can't be a single multiplayer. So if you need people to accomplish end game its multiplayer according to your definition of wow at that point.
1. Hubris, plain and simple. Oh I was like you once, thinking that MY company could do no wrong. Ah youthful MMO experience... Apparently you don't know me very well, I acknowledge BioWare can fail, I also see the opportunity to succeed. Don't insist you was like me, that makes me a bit embarrassed to know how far a person can sink into stupidity while advancing into the future. 2. People choose to do the easier thing, but this game basically IS a SPRPG. People choose what makes them happy, which is a big problem with people apparently. Are you seriously this upset people may have fun, alone? Oh my, anways, basically it IS how? 3. We have. People don't like the truth because it forces them to examine their own preferences. You do have choices in this game, and they are dialogue options 1-5. If that's the kind of "choice" you want, great. Go for it. I'm glad to see you know what preference means. Hopefully you can apply that here and come to understand people may prefer a MMO like ToR. If not, find another forum. Of coarse being given 1-5 choices is what I want. If the captain of the ship pisses me off I'm capable of decapitating him. What's the problem here? 4. I wasn't on the boards, actually, I was too busy playing the game. Before the NGE, the game was doing just fine with about 300k subs. Us vets weren't impossible to please, we just plain weren't listened to. WoW made people greedy, and that's what the NGE was about. Same routine BS. I've seen it plenty times to identify it. WoW didn't make people greedy, it set a goal for every MMORPG maker to follow, and the list goes, Polish, Fun, Long-term play, User Friendly, Progression. None of these SWG had. Trust me, player made content is absolute rubbish. If you fancy rubbish, return, or find a new game. The truth of the matter is, we had it right, and the failure of SWG after the NGE proved us right, while SOE's public execution become TOR's executive producer. Doesn't take a genius to figure out the issue there. Major difference being SWG was not meant to be ToR, people that stayed with SWG before the CU or NGE liked the game as it was. ToR is meant to be ToR, therefore it will be ToR and those looking for the ToR experience will hop on the wagon watching and waiting. 5. I don't take offense to people finding something they might enjoy. In fact, I'm betting on it with stock in Bioware. I just feel the ethical need to point out that this is a scam. Disagree with me. I'm counting on it. I want you to buy this game. I just believe in being honest, and this is a scam. Oh please, bore me with your conspiracy theories. BioWare is not trying and never has tryed to swindle anybody. SWG was a scam, it's been how many years and those same bugs are still present? Can you count the empty promises they have made as well?
It's just funny to me. You can be blatantly honest with people. You can warn them up and down, and STILL they make the stupid decision and make people like me rich. Not that I'm complaining. I rely on the drones of the world to produce for my benefit and the benefit of others. Please, enjoy the game, I hope a lot of people do, because I'll be watching the stock closely. If this becomes another WoW, I'll give a toast to it when my stock soars as a result. Oh do you? Well allow me to welcome you to the "drone" community, didn't SoE bait you in? Good luck with those "stocks". I'm sure everything you're saying is truth and not fabricated bullshit.
Honestly dude, I didn't even read what you said because it makes no difference. I just logically inferred that you actually took the time to address each individual point and address it in different colored font, and all because you disagree about a fucking game.
Christ, this is fantastic. It just took a few posts to get people to go nuts about something totally irrelevant to real life.

Well, if that doesn't sum up the attitude of a troll, I don't know what does. To my ignore list you go!
For everyone else who would like to respond to me, just FYI, I'm done with this read, so have at me. I'm sure it will be a nice confidence booster to respond to someone who won't hit back on the internet.
I appreciate the time and energy you all put into demonstrating how the utter pathetic nature of Star Wars geeks is going to take a horrible game and make it into a massive money maker.
Don't say I didn't warn you, and please vote republican. I would like to continue making money from all the less intelligent people out there.

The font color bothers you? To be honest It's much easier to respond to it piece by piece while not blending (Font color) with your post.
I'm not going nuts, I actually find enjoyment in this. I'm discussing, debating if you will.
Anyways, you're finished? No more? I expected more, I guess I shouldn't have.
Well since you stopped debating, and rather just sit there laughing and enjoying all of this like I am. I will now take this time to declare I win this little debate. I'm okay with beating your trolling nature to the point where you have to pretend like you don't care. I'm happy that it put you in such a state truly I am.
Thank you for proving my point, and giving up on debating. Its nice to know you're right.

AMAZING! In the SECONDS that I make my lost post there are not but THREE new posts responding to what is virtually nothing on my part!
What fun. I can totally bullshit for pages and net tons of responses by people who are so self-conscious about a game they feel the need to respond because someone on the internet is wrong!
Didn't you just tell me with your little drama queen act that you were done responding? What happened to that? Oh..I'm sorry that this is your only form of entertainment, and that you like to brood and be emo. Its fun, I know, but I find your situation that you continue to post, when you said you were done to be equally hilarious if not even more so.

Tipster, your trolling is epic. I kept wondering if you were going to post a coherent reply, but it never came. I remain entertained. Thank you.
A sure sign that you are in an old, dying paradigm/mindset, is when you are scared of new ideas and new technology. Don't feel bad. The world is moving on without you, and you are welcome to yell "Get Off My Lawn!" all you want while it happens. You cannot, however, stop an idea whose time has come.
Interesting thread……a few years back folks were waiting on two huge MMO titles EQ II, and WoW; the consensus was that EQ II was going to mop the floor with WoW because it has so many features WoW didn’t Voiced NPC’s a complex faction system etc. The long story short, EQ II reach over extended it grasp; it was too ambitious and was basically a huge failure that never has quite recovered. There is a lot of similarities right now between EQ II and WoW and STO and SW:TOR all the quote unquote smart money is on SW:TOR…and once again I think the smart money is wrong.

No, the problem is SOE runs itself like a company, while Blizzard runs itself like a gaming company.

WoW had a long development time, great game designers who had made many very good games, and a very good focus on what they wanted to do and how they wanted to go about it. Bioware and Blizzard are very comparable companies in this regard, as is their MMO approach (though not the MMOs themselves, mind you). Anyhow, there actually aren't that many similarities between the WoW-EQ2 situation and the STO-TOR situation.
Yes, I get less interested with everything I read about the game too. Perhaps it's time to realize that most people/gamers these days - unlike the tech savvy, literate, more mature computer gamer of the past - simply don't have the abilities to make their own choices or direct their own destinies in a game. And that designers are now merely reflecting the new reality.
Of course I'll be interested to see what things look like on release. But I do have a strong feeling I'm going to be taking (yet another) pass on this one.

LMFAO Yeap called it back on Pg 4 or 5 . he is a Troll with nothin better to do. I'm sorry u don't have the money to buy a new game or don't want to put time into a new game,But this doesn't mean u need to be a while u know. The problem with a Troll is there life must suck so bad that they want every1 else to fill that way to.It is just sad really. I understand these SWG ppl who cry because after 6 years there losing there home I still have my Acct. for the free cards and to play in space and u can hear them on there cring abot it. But anyway u look at it. Troll or SWG lover hurt that he can't take his 6 years of work with him. For real though SWG is so Dumb that it isn't even SW's as I said since the start at a New hope Luke was far from a Jedi let alone all these so called Jedi running around. I understand That The Empire Had X-Jedi who didn't want to die after the Clone War and helped The Empire see the feture but they sure wasn't running around everywhere. But I would much really live in a Old Rep. Era where it make's since
One question, I have played KoToR & 2 and I am currently playing DAO. One thing that really bothers me in all these games is that the combat doesn't really flow, you often have to click several times to actually click on someone ( can't really explain it but those of you who have played these games probably know what I am talking about.). Also I don't like the often buggy interaction with objects, not the entire object is clickable. But what bothers me the most of all is the looting, you have to wait up to half a minute after the fight is over before mobs become lootable.
Well, nice to know it's really going to be exactly what I said it would be from the start: KotOR 3 with a multiplayer option. Which works out very well, as I'll just wait 'til the price on the box drops, buy it cheap, play the game just like I would any other singleplayer rpg, beat the game ( get to end level ), and stuff it on a shelf with the rest of my Bioware singleplayer rpgs. Then every 6 months or so, when they've added more content, I'll pay a months sub while calling it an expansion pack, play that content and put it back on the shelf. All told, bioware might end up making a sum total of three or 4 months "sub" from me over a 3-4 year span. And the bonus is all the really lifelike NPCs ( these would be you guys ). lol They can call it what they want, but this is no more an mmo than Hellgate: London or Diablo.
What a knee jerk reaction! Granted the game is not out yet, but from this article and others this game is nothing like what you describe. Perhaps you should wait until it is in beta before jumping to ridiculous conclusions.
For the love of god I hope they dont kill us with the cut scenes and voice acting every 1 mins, I swera in Dragon age, im finding my self saying "ffs STFU ALREADY, I WANT TO PLAY". Bioware this sint a singleplayer game damit, where u can keep stopping players 24/7. Ive nerv really been a fan of voice acting or cutscenes in games, other than the occasional one for a special event or something. My god and they also give NPC's to aid you so u never have to group again. GJ Bioware, why didnt u just call this mass effect 3 single player game.
A hint, don't play a RPG
You should play Diablo, not Baldur's Gate. Next complaint by Demz2: There is all this sex in this porn movie, why can't they just skip it and get to the plot!"
