A few questions

Marcus-Marcus- Member UncommonPosts: 1,010

I'm considering subbing to Darkfall, and I was hoping if someone could help with a few a questions i have.  First a lil about m to perhaps make this a bit easier. I played UO the day it came out, up until AOS. It was by far the best MMO experience i ever had. Full loot PvP and all that don't bother me in the least, I'd go so far as to say i prefer it, as games such as this tend not to be gear-based, and heavy into crafting.

On to the questions...

1. What is end game like? I know there are towns and cities to control, I would assume these are larger guild based objectives?

2. Is there any type of solo end game? If i decided to go at it alone for a bit, could I?

3. Do i need to be part of a guild/city to own a home? I know its not like UO, and just place a house where you can fit it...

4. Is crafting a viable end game side game?  I used to enjoy armorcrafting in UO when times got a bit slow..

5. End game guild type politcs that effect the world? I was wondering if that was a by-product of city ownership.

I guess in a nutshell, i'm curious what the endgame is like. I am pleasesd with what i have read about it so far, but am curious if i would enjoy it long term.

Thanks for your time.

The end-game in DarkFall is what you want it to be. Forget solo'ing though....that's impossible.

    1. "end game" is pve, sieging, ship combat, etc.. lots of things to do.

    2.  I mean there is some soloing but mostly want to join a clan

    3. No anyone can own a house if you got the money

    4. Yes crafting is awesome in this game,

    5. Yes lots of sieging, alliances, wars, etc..

There is no end game like lvl based mmo's. As in lvl from 1 to cap then its end game. As soon as you start that its up to you what you want to do.

    Thanks for the quick replies...

I'm going to try it out for certain.. I understand there isn't a set end game in a sandbox (for example, raid this dungeon so that you may raid the next dungeon, and so on). I was more curious what the end game has developed into (by the players), and it seems to be exactly what i am looking for.

The soloing questions were more out of curiosity. I do plan on joining a guild, I'm just not in a big hurry to do it. The first years of my MMO life were spent in the same guild for over 6 years, since then, I have been in too many to count, unable to find the right fit. I think that may have been more a product of the games I was playing, than anything else. Full circle back to a sanbox game, where the objective is not gear, may help me quite a bit in that aspect.

Once again, thank you very much

You'll probably find a clan that fits you in DarkFall. There are so many different ideals, objectives, etc going on compared to a themepark where all guilds raid all day.

As for solo, you could actually solo before the expansion (last week) but since they greatly upped the AI, it's a lot harder to solo.

The "general end-game" right now would be Cairn alliance vs. Ruby alliance. Though the recent "VAMP" alliance is slowly growing more powerfull from what I've seen.

Every player in the game are specialized in the class of warriorpriestroguemagearcherminercraftergatherer. Everyone can have all skills, including all crafting skills, active at the same time. This is a bad thing in case you wonder.

    Not exactly true.

At first its really hard and you will not be in many large battles but its completely possible to play solo and do a lot that way in fact.

    Just FYI

Please do not respond to me, even if I ask you a question, its rhetorical.
