And how an Achiever feels regarding "paying to achieve", instead of "playing to achieve" ?

Because it is fun to kill things without paying a dime?

Your lack of understanding why millions of people play these games is not the same as they don't have good reasons.

They dont pay a dime, because the games sucks.

Devs knowing this, make their games free or they dont even start.

Millions of people dont choose to play these sucky F2P "Pay to Win" games. They dont have better choices.

Why? Because these games dont satisfy Exploreres, Socializers and Killers.

Only the combat focuses achievers and even them are bound to not be satisfied unless they spend hundreds of bucks buying whatever power their F2P "pay to win" cash shop games offer.

    Thats the future.

Now that is the stupidest statement i have seen. First, players have the choice of NOT TO PLAY. Second, unless you live under a rock, you can always choose some pay-to-play MMO like WOW.

It is obvious that many CHOOSE to play thsee F2P games, like it or not.

    "like it or not"

"the stupidest statement I have seen"

    "choice of not to play"

"unless you live under a rock"

"you can always choose to play WOW"

    Now those are stupid statements.

How can we claim that a la carte style service is the bane of all existance in MMOs, when it's present in every other facet of life?

When you buy a cellphone, you pay up front, then you have to pay a monthly fee to use it, and you can pay extra for additional things like apps or bonus services or whatever.

Essentially this is a revenue model used widely in just about everything we do. Heck you're using it right now.

Most of the time Item shops are for the F2P games... because since it was a free game the only thing that the company live is because of the item shop they can have a profit to continue the game... if not the game is really free and no other things to survive it will die....

Because with a F2P, people expect buying to win. In a P2P game, people expect equality.

People shouldn't expect equality in any p2p.  After all, some have more time than others, which is just as unbalancing as any form of rmt.

Thats what kind of cracks me up about the whole argument of f2p vs p2p. generally, the anti-f2p people, are the ones who simply dont have a good enough job (or any job at all) to be able to spend a little cash on getting some better stuf fin a game, and instead of working more (or at all), would prefer to spend that time whining about people who can afford it and then go and spend countless hours grinding and farming away to be able to buy their gear with ingame currency. But what is the difference really? If i spend real $ gained by busting my ass at work for a measly few hours once in awhile to gain a bit fo an edge in my game of choice, VS you who sits there doing nothing but playing a game for endless hours just to try and gain the equivalent of my gear who is it that is truly taking the "easy" way out to win? Sure youre investing more time in the game than me, but youre also just sitting around on your ass playing a video game, not exactly tough work... whereas I spent less time doing harder work IRL to earn my $. Its simply 2 different routes to the same place. One requires harder actual "work" but is faster, and the other is slow and easy. It all coems down to a matter of time vs money.... why is one better than the other and why do you think youre better than anyone else because you chose to spend several hours a day for a month trying to gain 1 piece of gear when i simply spent the equivalent of 1 or 2 hours of real work to get the same thing? Doesnt that kind of make you an idiot for having spent all that time for some intangible item in a game when you could have spent that time earning a living to buy not only the ingame stuff, but also pay the bills?

Many of you who think "paying to win" in an F2P, not only have it easier in a P2P, but also have little to no clue wtf youre talking about and simply jump on the bandwagon of talking crap about F2P games without ever having really invested any worthwhile amount of time in one. This is blatantly obvious by the fact that the majority of you think that F2P = buying your equipment. I have yet to see any of the F2P game sive tried (which is a hell of a lot) offer any sort of actual equipment for purchase. You must still gain the actual equipment ingame through farming for money, doing quests, raids, pvp, etc, the only difference is that once youve got the equipment you can then buy UPGRADERS for that equipment in the cash shops, most of which are also available ingame, only the cash shop ones give you a slightly better % of succeeding at the upgrades (and in many cases its a very very small increase in %). F2P games have just as many "hardcore" players who spend just as much time getting themselves leveled up and geared out as in a P2P.

Now sure, i know there are some games out there where the cash shop items simply give too big of an advantage over the people who dont pay, but the reality is many of the things are cosmetic and/or give you more of an advantage in PVE situations with very little impact on PvP, so when it comes to fighting others youre still on fairly even ground. And in those cases where the payers do have a slight advantage... so what? Its the way the entire world works, get used to it. You cant expect to pay for basic cable and still get all the channels that someone who is paying 3x as much as you for a premium package gets. Or go buy a low end base model car and be able to out perform someone else who spent a few extra grand for the model with a more powerful engine and performance upgrades. The sooner you get used to that fact, the sooner youll stop failing at both MMOs and life.
