The Perfect Game
I myself are looking forward to the Perfect game. This of course is an MMORPG. I find no satisfaction with the current MMORPG's. They need to be a lot better. I think we need to see the Perfect game where virtually everyone plays. It IS coming. In a way MMORPG's are better than real life, I don't think I will find too many arguments there. We just need a really good game, obviously that is the Perfect game. Once again, it IS coming. I predict it will be hear by 2011. We do need ALL the top game makers on the job, though. Maybe not Blizzard. As individuals not companies.
I have noticed some things that will go towards making the Perfect game. First of all, why do we need graphics cards. We can see video in the computer screen no problem. There is no need for them, and there is no need to download the game onto your computer. We should be able to access the game from any computer. Runescape does it, so there is no reason why i can not be done with other games. (I play Runescape, but it is not exactly the Perfect game. It's good and has given me months of fun but it is not Perfect. We should all be after Perfection).
Another thing is; we have all seen the previews at least, of the new movie 'Avatar' and that is done on a computer. Why can't they make computer game graphics that good? They could be awesome instead of the lame graphics we get on most games. (Surprisingly, (to some) I do like the graphics on Runescape)
The Perfect game should also be free.
And it doesnt need to focus on combat. There will be some combat in it, but that should not be the main focus. And why does there have to be monsters? It should be all human. There is enough good versus evil in the "human" realm. Everyone can be what they want to be, and there will still be good versus evil. It should be a bit more like Real Life, though how many people really live in the Real world? Certainly something to think about.
I might comment more as time goes by, but this is food for thought.

Is this serious? You question the neccesity of graphics cards, then go on to mention why a game can't have CGI like in a movie? Ok, on the small chance that you're actually this clueless, I'll bite. What do you think video cards do, exactly? I mean, they're obviously a complete money sink with no real function, right?

The poster must be a young child, no older than their teens. From all the spelling mistakes, to the simple ignorance of how the world works. I honestly can not take this post seriously, how would you expect to have game graphically comparable to Avatar, with no video card, have it be free, and have all the top devs work on it, but there be no company behind them? I'm not even going to get into the "everyone plays it" crap. This post is trash.

I have some more comments to make about how The Game should be. It should be made for adults and should include things like sex. We should be able to have sex in the game.
I have a name for it already, it should be called 'Redemption' and have no real quests, except The Great Quest to find The One, who will actually be a player. I'll leave you to figure out who that player should be.
Money should not be of major importance and we should have a very wide selection of clothing, with out really having aromour. The Quest to find The One should be of major importance.
It will be a real battle between Good and evil, with some trying to kill The One, while others try to protect Him at the same time they want to learn the "secrets of Life" from Him, though everyone wants to learn the secrets of Life from Him only they don't know how to get them, and some attempt to kill Him. It will be really "Good versus evil" with the Ultimate Prize being far more valuable than mere "fun and games". It will be the actual discovery of the Mysteries on the Universe and the Great Joy that comes with it.
I would like to end by quoting the Bible, "Where there is no vision, people perish". And we people WILL perish without this game. It will become a way of LIfe and give people the riches of the Universe. We WILL perish without this game and we will see at least 1000 people working on it. Making it will give people real Purpose. It will be a Great service and service is the great Healer and Teacher. People will find Healing, Purpose, Joy, Love and Great fulfillment making this game, and this is what it wil give everyone who plays it and More. It will give them Redemption.
I am happy to be an Advisor on this game when someone picks it up. That should give you an over view of the Game.
I have some more ideas that will/should go into The Game. *UPdated*
The map should cover a whole planet and we should all start from various locations around the planet due to the "personal" details entered into when you start the game, like occupations, current and former, life style, religious views, gaming history, life choices you have made, place of residence etc. This should decide many things about your character and can decide ultimate which side you are on and what abilities you have and clothing - but this of course can change as you progress through the game. Age can also be included and you can appear as that age, especially as children, and then you can grow into adults (of course). Hairstyles will be limted. You could also enter things like wieght and this could govern how you look. You could also send in a full body photo, to create a "body image" for your playing character.
The One will be a real focal point for the game bestowing healing, powers, Knowledge and Wisdom, as you are ready for them. You WILL get titles like in some other games, as you complete certain tasks, which will be auto matic and you can voluntarily and you can find out personal details about the player, at the click of the mouse - mainly things like occupations from real life. There is great potential for growth in this game, it is only limited by your ability to align yourself with The One.
Some other people can be focal points also, for the giving out of their own personal quests, in fact everyone, will and should have the ability to give out quests. Titles can be given as a result of these quests.
After the game is made there won't be support staff or updates, they are quite prone to wreck a game - there won't be any need for them. The game makers, will PLAY the game.
Weapons will be limted to not much more than basic sword and dagger, with staves and maces in special cases and also a magic bow which can be recieved in special cases. Remember all the things that make a game bad. These things will be eliminated.
There will also none of the items 'disappearing' when left on the ground for long enough so you can 'stash' items in various locations and we can have NPC blacksmiths, to buy your weapons from as well as othe NPC vendors for other items. There will be NO grinding and NO forums except very limited ones. Forums can wreck a game also.
Another big thing is the elimination of the combat level. People will be "judged" by who they are, rather than how much fighting they have done.
We should have a separate 'chat' box which you can review all past text, in your vicinty, like in Runescape, not like in many other games, with a private chat, like in Runscape also. To 'SHOUT' to all game users, can only be done when you have developed a certain level of power, kind of like mana, and will not be done frequently. Only certain users will want to do this as there is no purpose, except a "personal" one. The One can talk to anyone He wishes, through telepathy.
Interfaces will be simple and organic and technology will have to come to the party for this and much of the game. I'm sure it can and has done "recently".
There will also be a meditation and prayer option for all players, which can help you in many ways, though not all will like to do it.

Yes, definitely a young 'teen' its amazing how their viewpoints change though when they finally get a girlfriend etc. so, heres fingers crossed that it happens sooner than later

While people are looking for perfect games,I am just looking for a fun game.MMO fans to much concern into what features a game,if the game is a sandbox or themepark,if it has levels or classes.I have three requirements for a game have
1.Have very few bugs
2.Have graphics that while be comparable to future games
3.Be fun to play
Gamers are one of the most clueless people on earth, they think they want something but in reality when they actually play it they find some stupid reason to make it bad and well never play the game again. I think this is why blizzard succeeds, they bring polish, accessibility and a fun game even if they might lack in features in some peoples minds.
More ideas....
There should be a need for rest and a realistic "feeling" of fatigue and also a need to eat regularly, with day and night.
The graphics should be the most realistic a game has ever seen, far out doing even the best graphics seen in todays games.
To comment on a couple of posts, this game will have no bugs, obviously, being Perfect, and the game will have the best graphics and will last thousands of years at the least. It will be the game to end all games. It is, after all, what you are looking for. Finally, shouldn't fun be your number one priority in a game? This game will definitely be the most fun you will ever have, perhaps for many thousands of years or longer. How many games are really all that fun and how much fun do you think you are having? It's not as much as you could be having and will be having when you play this game. You will be in bliss. It won't get old like other games and you will never get sick of playing it, though you may of course do other things in limited quantities. It will be part of real life because it will BE real life. There is no separating your gaming life from your real life.
To the other poster - gamers are some of the most intelligent people on the planet. Your ego tells you the oppostie of the Truth.
People will be working on the game from Holland, Germany and Japan and many other countries as my original estimate for game makers goes up to millions. It should take less than a year to make and the cost will be in the billions to make. That should get you excited.
Women will have special roles if they wish, as priestesses and they can gather together, and do holy rituals in robes, a bit like what was done at Stonehenge. There is no other purpose for women. They can also be healers, food preparers etc. with the option to become a Goddess as they learn how to communicate with The One telepathically, as they unify with Him. They are closer to The One than they would like to believe at least many of them. There is still the sex function which they should use sparingly. The One is of course an exception. They can have sex with Him as much as they like, though of course, he might not be interested in them. They have to be pure. He will of course Know how pure someone is.
I forgot the mention the hunting ability before as you will need to get your own food to eat, though you will be able to carry and eat other food of course. There is a life lesson here for many men, as they may have to learn to live with out women looking after them, and women will not necessarily want to do it for them as they too learn a lesson.
There will of course be magic, but this will of course be only for certian special individuals as it is in Real Life. The Wizards etc. This will be designated by your real life choices etc. Remember, you have to be honest, this is your life we are talking about. We ALL have to be honest in order for this to work. There is no room for dishonesty.
Technology will have to be up to a certain level, but steps have been made in this direction.
The game motto can come from the INXS song, 'Mystify'. "Eternally wild with Power, to make ever moment come alive." The next line could also be added, "All the stars shine upon you, and kiss you every night."
Remember, its my way or the highway and you know where that road leads.
I feel like this is a troll or the OP is 9 years old. There are so many thing wrong with what you posed that I can't even hope to outline them all. For starters, why the hell would the MMO industry make this "perfect game" and then release it for free? Do you have any idea how long it takes to make an MMO. Even if everyone in the industry all worked together not stop on this game, it wouldn't be ready for a couple years.
Next the only reason Runescape can be accessed from any computer is because of the awful graphics, its not even a fully 3d game. The amount of information that would need to be processed off the server is rediculous, people would get 1 FPS and it would suck.
Then the reason we can't have a game that looks like Avatar is because that is CGI which not even 2xGTX285 graphics cards could handle.
Grow up and learn that this is a business not fantasy land.

Now I'll get to the 'business' of describing more aspects of my game. I need my games to be fully immersive, so that's what you will get from this Game.

Now for a real shock... there will be NO Hitpoints. Combat will be swift and brutal leaving people injured and in need of healing. This is where the women come in.
Btw, you can't tell me you don't need Redemption...
Another topic dear to many peoples hearts in 'death'. There will be death but there will be reincarnation according to merit - there will be a merit meter which can be shared with others. It will create bonds and forge relationships with this. Everything you do will be recorded for people to see and this all goes to create 'merit'. Just like real life. Good deeds and bad deeds will give good or bad 'merit' and this has many implications, like how The One and everyone else treats you. The option to hide your merit meter will be taken away for those with very good, or very bad merit. Right and wrong will be deeply programmed into the game and these will be TRUE values, not the ones you think of today. Good and evil are judged by other things.
There won't be any need for extended battles as everythign will be over fairly quickly, with ALL the battles except the ones that are closely matched where they will be a little longer. Like real life. There will be advanced hand to hand combat - think 'Bourne Identity' except the fights won't go on that long. People will really learn a lot about themsleves to say the least. At last the Delphic Oracle injunction, "Know Thyself" will come to fruition. As Seraph says in one of the Matrix movies, "You never know someone until you fight them."
You can learn to fly in very rare cases. Perhaps 1 or 2 every decade. There will be many chances of uniqueness, if that is what you are after. Perhaps you just want to be Great. It's up to you. Your ingame life will change you as a person. All your wildest dreams can be lived out. It's what you want. Even romance fantasies (by women mainly - if there is a willing male and that's what they want) can be lived out, but don't forget what you are doing it for - The One, though it is ulimately for your true self. He does it for you, although Love is Transcendental.

I'm still naked, but while we are on the subject... you can get completely naked in the game and the sex function will be graphic. I leave you to ponder...
On a more technical note, there will be many interface options, with an options page for you interface preferences.
There won't be rain in this game, but there will be, seas, fogs and mists which will keep the world moist. And you really wont need to drink, except from certain holy founts and there will be elixirs, for healing etcetera.
Another point you might really be interested in is that there will be no 'experience points'. There might be a scale or meter on how much you are taming the horses and learning for this skill, for e.g. but most things will be just learned orgnically and you will just know them.
Mana will increase by meditation, though many will not have much mana, if any. Meditation will have other benefits though. Meditation can increase your mana leaps and bounds suddenly if done for long enough and can even give you mana, when you had no mana before. Women may have what is called in the Indian terminology, shakti, a type of spiritual power. We can't really get into the use of this just yet.
Prayer will increase vitality and have other benefits, like "luck", which is not really luck because there is no such thing as luck.
There are some other things, like buildings which you can build and landscape like mountains but they are pretty self explanitory. The mountains will have caves which can be used for various things, with one secret special cave in the largest giant mountain, for mediation which will have great merit in finding and using.
There will be forests with foraging for herbs available. This is a kind of elite skill.

That's all I have tom say for the moment, but there will be more later.
