Dragons & Dungeons Online is failed. But that doesn't mean, every DND MMO will fail. As some rumour, Bioware will release Neverwinter Online. Neverwinter Night series have always best DND element. So I hope Neverwinter Online can success!
I am a veteran dnd player (ughh..I am 43 years old now!) and I like 4E. Personally I think many people just do not give new games a fair chance. if 4E was the 'old' dnd, people would just trash 3E if it was the 'new game on the block'
Plenty of people like 4E. Or are the players in my games phantoms? But seriously, I happen to prefer 4E over 3E quite a bit.
4E has some balance; 3E is a mess. I also like City of Heroes a lot, so cryptic is just fine to make the computer mmorpg version game in my opinion.
Agree with all of this. I've been DM'ing D&D since the late 70s, and my players all enjoyed 4E much more than 3E. As a DM, I kinda prefer 1E over 4E, but only a little. I find in 4E my job is more work but easier at the same time.
I've actually been waiting for an announcement for a couple years now for a forgotten realms mmo
ever since RA Salvatore (author of forgotten realms >_>) started his own video game company with curt schilling and todd mcfarlane (legendary comic book dude)
They seem like pretty smart people imo.. so in my own fantasy world I imagine them following the blizzard video game path.. release a succesful video game.. get people interested in it.. then turn it into a mmorpg.
So thats why I'm going to watch the video game they previewed at E3 closely to see how it turns out... it seems pretty awesome atm imo.. but im a fanboi so I can't really be objective heh.

Oh yeah that would be a great setting.
I played DDO for a while - I hate the 3E rules and the setting for the game is pretty poor
I got so sick of killing kobolds :P

I want a Dragonlance MMO more than a Forgotten Realms. But hey, that's just me.
The answer is 42 you idiot!
