What is the worst customer support you've seen in a MMO?

The other day, I made a new Aion character. Well, as soon as I made it, I crashed and when I logged in my face was totally different. Sure I could have started a new character, but I figured I would contact a GM and let him know and see if he can change my face back.

I did and after arguing with him if I was lying or not he said (exact words)

"i think you lying. you must be retarted to think i believe you. you just want a free face change. for wasting my time i ban you three day."

with all the horrible English glory...and retarted with a T and not a D.

So, in modern games...Aion definitely takes the cake of most horrible customer support. I might have seen worse, but not off the top of my head.

What about you, what MMO did you get horrible customer support in?

You just made a post about the exact same thing earlier. Why make it again?

Edit - anyway to answer the quesiton, the worst support i ever experienced was Aion's. Not because it was bad, but because I never got any when I needed it.

This isn't the same thread? This is a thread talking about bad support, I was just telling my story, and wanted to see what other people have had bad support problems

I'd say WoW.  They did a patch a year and some change back which caused many people to first get a screen of nekkid characters with question marks over their heads, and then to not only crash to desktop, but to actually lose their internet connection.  Browsers, everything kerplunked until you went in and manually clicked "connect to network."  It hit people with different versions of windows, and a wide variety of modems and routers.  A wide variety of builds and brands were affected, but Blizzard said after literally months of complaints "Our patch has revealed a hardware bug in many of your systems."  I don't know if they ever fixed it, the wife and I shifted over to CoX rather than pay for a game we couldn't play.  (Funny thing the claim about the routers/modems being the problem.  I could play and she couldn't, running off the same DSL modem and router.)

they say "retarted" in 4chan to get passed the profanity filter.

that's probably where he learned it.

Customer service is an MMO's biggest expense after launch.

Star Wars Galaxies.  I would write tickets and they would just erase them.  One day I called SOE and asked them about my ticket and they said, 'I'm sorry but according to us you didn't fill out a ticket. '  So I say to them, 'Well I'm looking at it on my screen right now'.  And they say, 'Oh yeah, there it is.  Sorry can't do anything about that.'

An old poster from eons ago? Am I John Connor like it says in my profile? Am I male? Or am I female? Or back to that same question...am I new, pretending to be old?

There was a time when all these questions could be answered.

So, I'll leave that up to MMORPG.com to decide.

tbh, I never ever experianced horrible or bad GM support, could be because of the way I speak to them. Which doesn't mean others might be rude, it only means I myself never experianced bad support when needed, though hardly have needed it in the years of MMORPG's

Obviously sometimes there can be some misunderstanding but that doesn't really count as bad support for me.

I'm like you, I"ve never experienced bad support. At least not with the actual service.

The only "bad" support I've experienced is that I made a ticket at turbine and it took a few days for them to get back to me. However, they do indicate that it can take a while so it sort of "is what it is".

The way I look at it is that the person who is receiving my support ticket is not an all powerful being. They don't always have the immediate power to make changes.

Having said that, as bad as people say NC Soft support can be, I've actually gotten great support from them.

Once, in Lineage 2, I died and dropped my breastplate. So as I was running back to get it the servers went down. Well, if the servers go down then anything on the ground is gone. I submitted a ticket, explained what the issue was, and the next day a gm had contacted me and informed me that they put my breastplate back into my inventory.

I did't go nuts or throw a tantrum when  I made the ticket, just clearly explained what the issue was. So often do I see people who indicate they have had support problems but when they post their correspondence I'm shocked as to how rude they were in the initial ticket.

only issues I have ever had, with an MMO, is through NCsoft. They make me feel like they don't care.

Never was treated badly or anything but in some games it took CS awhile to get back to my tickets which was an annoyance but nothing really major.

I actually never had a problem with SOE support, in fact...they were rather good, at least from my experiences. My two friends had opposite experiences than me...but I found SOE to be good, though they can be a bit slow to respond.

The worst I personally have encountered was from NCSoft while playing Lineage II. I was a high level clan leader and after having about the 6th person in my clan scammed by someone pretending to be me(A direct and blatant violation of the EULA in that game I might add) I petitioned a GM about it. After arguing back and forth with him/her for about twenty minutes about whether or not it was just "player conflict" (Their canned answer for any complaint) I finally got the reply..."We GM's are not responsible for upholding the EULA or Terms of Service for this game." Rather dismayed at this response I then asked... "Then what the hell is your job exactly, getting stuck newbies out of trees?!?" To which the GM replied... "Yeah, pretty much."... LOL

It wasn't too long after that I quit and never went back.
