I've taken a break from computer games for up to six months.
Playing Dragon Age is not a break in my opinion because it is so similar to an MMO. Only thing different is that they're no other people. And it's a bit more challenging.

Longest for me without gaming was probably 1-2 months. I then realized how boring this other game called Real Life is....and how expensive it is to not game. So I went back to gaming as my hobby, and everything was alright again

Lately I've been doing 1 month on 1 month off. Not being subscribed to an MMO for a month gives me a chance to play some of my other games. Longest I've went w/o an MMO sub is about 8 months I think. And I've been playing since EQ Kunark.
Vault-Tec analysts have concluded that the odds of worldwide nuclear armaggeddon this decade are 17,143,762... to 1.
I cancelled my last subscription last September, I think, and honestly I don't really miss it. I'm playing other games and doing other things, there just wasn't much fun about MMOs before I left and so far as I can tell, nothing has changed. Until they significantly improve, I see no point in going back to them and if that means I never play another MMO so long as I live, that's entirely fine with me.
Played: UO, EQ, WoW, DDO, SWG, AO, CoH, EvE, TR, AoC, GW, GA, Aion, Allods, lots more
Relatively Recently (Re)Played: HL2 (all), Halo (PC, all), Batman:AA; AC, ME, BS, DA, FO3, DS, Doom (all), LFD1&2, KOTOR, Portal 1&2, Blink, Elder Scrolls (all), lots more
Now Playing: None
Hope: None
I got burnt out on the mainstream and moved to Global Agenda if that counts as getting out of the MMO genre. LOVE is the only thing resembling an MMO I'm actively playing anymore. I play Spellborn when I'm bored, but knowing my gf won't play it with me is disheartening.
Check out the MUD I'm making!
Yeh i'll probably be taking a few months break, ive cut off going to most MMO websites or forums and spend less than an hour on the computer nowadays. Hopefully there's something i would enjoy by summer time!
i haven't actually played an MMO in ages the last time i "played" one was at thanksgiving where i played Runescape for a short while. it has sorta become a tradition of mine to play that game around that time just to see how it is doing.
Runescape has alot of nostalgic value to me due to the fact it was my first MMO and one my first games of all time. Plus i still have fun with it.

uhhh... dang.
Haven't played an MMO since August. Doesn't look like I'll be playing one any time soon. And even then during August I would not play for days on end only to show up once a week or something.
I got work, and other crap to do. I also think I'm due to try something else for a hobby. I think this spring I'm buying a motorcycle and I'm just gonna ride.
No required quests! And if I decide I want to be an assassin-cartographer-dancer-pastry chef who lives only to stalk and kill interior decorators, then that's who I want to be, even if it takes me four years to max all the skills and everyone else thinks I'm freaking nuts. -Madimorga-
