Anyone been playing this at all? I'd appreciate some feedback and/or reviews before downloading and installing if it's even worth trying. Closed beta keys can be received HERE or at the Main Page of this site. The game website is http://allods.gpotato.com/ I do understand it will be a CS game but I can only play MW2 so much before I go crazy. Still waiting for the epic games to come out

I'm waiting for open beta to try it hate it when I waste hours on characters that will be wiped and would lose interest in the game like what happened in grand fantasia =/
It is basically a WoW clone (the best WoW clone I believe) except for a few things.
- The combat is much slower and is meant to be played in groups.
- You can be a space pirate. (They let you control a pirate ship and move it around through space. While you steer the ship your friends will be shooting the cannons at other player ships.
- Odd choice of races. Such as you being 3 small little mole/rodent that act as a cohesive unit.

Anyone else getting a corrupted client when they download it from the site? I run the repair kit but it just says to run it again at the end.
Thank you guys for the feed back and suggestions. I went ahead and downloaded it and was also getting the corrupted client message and when to download the repair kit and still no go, I just decided to uninstall and not deal with it so I have answered my own
Be sure to go to your Add or Remove Programs and uninstall Pando Media Booster too.
I have to agree with Xirik, it is quite a bit like WoW. I like the depth of the skill tree. Great free game!
I enjoyed it while I played however I am waiting to see what they will be doing about the Itemshop and if they will wipe characters after CB-OB. I really don't like to redo areas -_-.

I have read on the forums that the battle speed will get faster in release, but I doubt it. I love the design (graphics) of the game.
i have problem with downloading the game ... on 70% the progres is 0 Bps please can someone give me normal host
For the problem your having with the client its a known issue on the forum there are solutions including renaming the launcher in the bin folder to LuncherO , then lunch it as soon as theres a box that pops out press enter and it will re download it and will work fine afterward.
The game does get faster later it shouldnt be judged pre lvl 10 as its really slow there and laggy , the issue im having is with Fear of death ( death penality that reduce stats by 25% for 51 min at 40 and can stack up to 4 time ) and of course cash shop that seems to be the main focus of the people behind it .
The closed beta ended not long ago and it should be back on the 16th il be there to see if things changed , give it a shot at least but dont get your hopes up

Edit: It works but you have to change the file name Launcher.exe in your bin folder to Launcher0.exe
Well the game is promising... and it looks like wow...in many ways but when u play more and more.. u realise that is has its own style... and i give 10 of 10 for this game worth trying... graphic is good and gameplay..rly nice

I strongly urge anyone interested to read up on the situation on NA and Rus server. Even the EU server is experiencing population drops I noticed. It's prty sad considering this is the closest to WoW quality any f2p game has gotten so far. Oh well.
Well, as someone who hit max lvl in CB (40) and now own a lvl 32 char ( i dont raise it lvl any more because i wait to see the CS prices and new patch changes)i would say this: its a nice game, graphics and gameplay (especially pvp)
BUT
The real problem is coming from the CS,which is killing the game. Is like an pay-to-win game. If you dont buy their perfumes your char is nerfed after death with 25% stats red(and its 4 times stackable) and is imposible not to die in a pvp game especially if you play against a player that has +70% hp , more mana, +70stat points potion from CS , in the upcoming patch i read there will be even skills that you can use if you buy CS .
So why should someone play an game where are 2 options:
1-dont buy CS items>you are nerfed by dead and unable to play
2-Buy CS items > you can be shure you will win in like 95% of the pvp fights(if we suposee in the 5%you loose ,you battle against a pvp freak :P OR another CS user :d )
At this moment i am waiting for a new good p2p game.I dont like f2p from what i experienced .. At least in a p2p i pay ~14E/month but i know that for 30 days i play as much as i want with fair chances (50%-50%) to beat everyone else .
I just finished playing Allods and hope that people read this before spending too much time on this game. I'll be addressing many issues right off and returning to answer any question people may have regarding the game using the knowledge I have accumulated.
Yes the Cash Shop makes you want to kill kittens. For the small price of 30 dollars you too can own a Rune removal tool with a high chance of success. Mind you the one just below that is a mere 5 dollars. There are other items that have come down since the first round of horrendous pricing on the part of Gpotato, but they still have a long way to go.
Currently there is a debuff in the game called FoD (Fear of Death). This debuff comes in to play once you hit level 15. At first it is a trival matter. A small time in Purgatory and then a few seconds to wait on the debuff to go away. Then comes the next few levels. The debuff time and time in Purgatory grow the high level you get. Not only that but the FoD debuff WILL stack. There are 2 ways to get rid of this. Pay a vendor to remove it for you which also costs more as you level, or buy perfumes (which are now called incense) off the cash shop. Reportedly, they plan to remove FoD at some point. Here is the kicker! Incense will be required for all end game PvE raids in order to have the necessary buffs to complete. Not only that these buffs can he applied to PvP combat in giving a player the edge needed to win.
There is also an extreme lack of flexibility when it comes to leveling. Do NOT level unless you have fatigue. Fatigue is a mechanic that store EXP you earn from questing and killing mobs. Essentially doubling your EXP gain as you go. This can be cashed in for a large bulk of EXP. If you are an avid gamer this will hurt you badly. You suddenly have no quests, no where to turn, and get to spend the next few hours/days grinding out the levels you need to unlock more quests.
The ships and Astral PvP is another heart breaker. The ship alone will take 100 days to build. That is real-time folks. So you can bet there isn't one out there yet for anyone to write about.
For those of you concerned about a wipe after OB...there is not going to be one. I think that is the only positive thing I have heard.
While the game play is fluid, combat is fun and traditional, even fast-paced when you try to PvP. There are even more flaws to list.
1.) PvP rank and Combat Glory (determines PvP rank) resets on a weekly basis. So that PvP gear you were hoping to get? Well you have one week to accumulate enough points before you start over.
2.) Severe CC abilities. Not just from players but also in game mobs.
3.) Absolutely no in-game moderation or support. They did finally release a spam filter but does not address the fact there is no support for the players at all. There is also no policing to remove hackers or exploiters.
4.) Despite what Allods says about optional PvP it is not true. This is an outright lie. If you pay attention early in the game you will notice that certain NPC mobs will turn your PvP flag on. Now it is possible for players of the opposite faction to go anywhere you can with the exception of the tutorial areas. So imagine the low level embarking on his first steps outside of the city that is then systematically raped by a few 40's. This does not even take in to consideration that at level 22-23 you find yourself in the Holy Lands. While this is a zone for people trying to reach the 30's there are numerous griefers that will destroy you here. nothing you can do about it. Just remember from earlier - FoD + Purgatory + Level + unflagging is not an option if you wish to level and quest.
5.) While I don't consider it to be a fix by any means I do applaud the efforts of Warhammer. Probably one of the most balanced games in terms of 1v1 PvP. Even though I am by no means a fan after their past indiscretions. Allods could take a long look at them to see what they did right. They also need to take a long look at alot of other games in terms of pricing before this is just another failure.
6.) There are plans to make 20-40 harder to level by increasing the EXP required. This goes hand in hand with what I mentioned about running out of quests and grinding mobs.
7.) General lack of communication from the Development team to the community. No patch notes or plans for development are released to the community. It is up to the community to figure out what changed. I see that as a cowardly act on their part to reduce flaming when they change something people actually liked. A way to hide behind a wall of misinformation and speculation until they are caught.
Anyway I said I will return to answer any other questions regarding the game. So feel free to ask.
